BOSTON, Mass. - Men's Soccer junior goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrarini (Hanover, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, it was announced by the conference office this afternoon. The honor marks the fourth time of the keeper's career that he's been recognized by the conference.
Ferrarini had a solid week in net during the Saints two game week. The Hanover native registered three saves in a GNAC victory over Anna Maria to help EC improve to 3-1-1 in conference play. The keeper followed up by recording 10 saves against Roger Williams University in a 2-1 road defeat, keeping Emmanuel in the game throughout against the Hawks who received votes in last week's national coaches' poll.
Midway through the 2018 campaign, the netminder ranks third in the GNAC in both saves (53) and save percentage (.803). His 1.28 goals against average ranks fourth in the conference while his 916+ minutes rank second among his league peers.
Over his career, Ferrarini has played in and started all 48 contests with Emmanuel, posting 15 wins and nine shutouts. He boasts a career .798 save percentage to go along with a 1.55 goals against average over 4,342+ minutes of action.
The Saints are currently 4-5-1 on the season and return to action on Tuesday, October 2 when they travel to Standish, Maine to take on #15 Saint Joseph's College (ME) in GNAC action at 6:00 PM.
