LAUZIER NAMED GNAC MEN'S LACROSSE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Emmanuel College freshman goaltender Austin Lauzier (Bedford, N.H.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week for his play during the week ending on April 22, it was announced by the conference office earlier this week.
Last week, Lauzier posted an impressive .600 save percentage to help Emmanuel lock up it's first-ever GNAC tournament berth with a victory over Daniel Webster. The freshman also made 14 saves to keep the Saints in the game vs. Lasell College earlier in the week.
On the season, the rookie has played in and started all 15 games in net for the Saints in their inaugural season, averaging 8.9 saves per outing. The Bedford, N.H. native posted a 7.88 goals against average on the year to rank first in the conference among rookies and fifth overall. The first-year was in goal for the Saints first-ever program victory, a 14-1 win over Green Mountain State on 3/15 and on the year, posted seven outings with double-digit save totals including a season-best 17 save outing vs. Mount Ida College on 3/24. He ended his first campaign with a .566 save percentage to rank first among rookie goalies and fifth overall in the GNAC.
Lauzier and the Saints will be back in action this afternoon when they head to Newton, Mass. to take on Mount Ida College at 4:00 PM in the Quarterfinals of the 2012 GNAC Men's Lacrosse tournament. The \#2 Mustangs are the defending GNAC Champions while the \#7 Saints will be making their first-ever appearance in the tourney.
