SAINTS SOAR PAST EAGLES IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

NASHUA, N.H. - Emmanuel used a five-goal first period and a three-goal second to take control early and held off a second half charge from host Daniel Webster to post an 11-6 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory on Saturday afternoon. The regular season finale for both clubs was played at Daniel Webster's at Eagle Field. The win propels the first-year Saints (7-8, 3-6 GNAC) into the post-season play, while Daniel Webster (4-9, 1-8 GNAC) sees its season come to a close.
Brian O'Regan (Milton, Mass.) paced the Saints with a hat trick and game-high six ground balls while Evan Dolber (Malden, Mass.) had two scores and an assist. Jake Jaskolski (St. Clair Shores, Mich.) and Jack Ruggiero (Manhasset, N.Y.) netted two strikes each. Ted Dimando (Allston, Mass.) and Josh Condry (Upton, Mass.) had a goal and two assists apiece.
Justin Chiulli (Saugus, Mass.) led Daniel Webster with three goals while Kieran Kavanaugh (East Lyme, Conn.) had a goal and three assists. Kurtis Fotheringham (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Bobby Loranger (Billerica, Mass.) had single scores.
Tommy Driscoll (South Boston, Mass.) completed his senior season finishing with 13 saves in goal. Driscoll finished his career as the program's all-time goaltending leader in games played, minutes played, saves per game and career victories.
Austin Lauzier (Bedford, N.H.) made seven saves, earning his seventh win of the season for the Saints.
Dolber netted two goals in the first quarter, while Jaskolski had two in the second. Ruggiero would notch one in the first and one in the second.
Jeff McMahon (Madison, Conn.) made it 9-0 early in the third, before the Eagles would notch four-straight to make a run. Chiulli put DWC on the board with 4:31 gone in the period, Loranger followed 1:07 later, Chiulli netted his second off a Kavanaugh pass with 8:05 to go, and Fotheringham made it 9-4 off a Kavanaugh pass with 2:28 left.
After a timeout, Emmanuel answered with O'Regan's third of the day with 1:25 to go for a 10-4 game after three.
Chiulli would notch his third for a 10-5 game with 5:41 left. Emmanuel's Joel Berger (Cape Neddick, Maine) and DWC's Kavanaugh would trade goals in the final 1:11 for the 11-6 final.
Emmanuel has earned the 7th seed in the upcoming GNAC play-offs. The Saints will take on the 2nd-seeded Mustangs of Mount Ida College in the GNAC quarterfinals on Wednesday afternoon in Newton, Mass.
