MEN'S LAX NOTCHES FIRST-EVER GNAC VICTORY IN 17-8 WIN OVER EMERSON

BOSTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College men's lacrosse team continued to make history in their inaugural season Saturday afternoon, defeating Emerson College 17-8 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Rotch Field. The win was the program's first GNAC victory as well as a season-high in goals scored. The Saints improve to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play while the loss drops the Lions to 0-3 overall, 0-3 in the GNAC.
After falling behind 1-0, Emmanuel rattled off the next seven goals to take a 7-1 stronghold on the game en route to the conference victory. The Saints would build up a 12-4 halftime lead and cost to the 17-8 final, outshooting the Lions 41-23 in the win.
Sophomore attacker Brian O'Regan (Milton, Mass.) led the way for the Saints collecting seven points in the win on a two goal, five assist outing while freshman middie Jake Jaskolski (St. Clair Shores, Mich.) added five points on a goal and four assists. Senior middie Eddie Thy (Portland, Me.) added four points with a goal and three helpers while freshman attacker Evan Dolber (Malden, Mass.) provided an offensive spark with a team-best three goal effort.
Freshman goalie Austin Lauzier (Bedford, N.H.) notched the win to improve to 5-4 on the year in between the pipes, recording four saves over three quarters of action while rookie Justin Byers (Indianapolis, Ind.) allowed just one goal over the final quarter for the Saints.
Emmanuel will return to action on Thursday evening when they head to Nashua, N.H. to take on Rivier College in another GNAC matchup scheduled for a 6:00 PM start.
