Late Push Lifts Lasell Past Men's Lacrosse, 14-7
Newton, Mass. – The Lasell University men's lacrosse team used a strong second and fourth quarter to defeat Emmanuel College, 14-7, Tuesday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) clash at Grellier Field.

The Lasers and the Saints were deadlocked after the first quarter and then Buccheri started Lasell off well in the second with two goals in a thirty second span. The third quarter would match the first with both teams equal on goals in the quarter. Lasell would control the fourth quarter though scoring the first four goals and five out of the six goals in the quarter to put the game away.
Lasell senior Andrew Fidalgo (Wilbraham, Mass.) led the way with two goals and three assists, while senior Colby Buccheri (Rowley, Mass.) added three goals and one assist. Juniors James Anderson (Medway, Mass.) and Bash Cunningham (Norwalk, Mass.) both tallied three goals along with gradutate student Chase Kapuscienski (Grafton, Mass.). Junior Steven Phelps (Stamford, Conn.) led the game with 10 ground balls and fellow classmate David Burke (Cohasset, Mass.) grabbed seven.
For Emmanuel, first year Robert Favuzza (Saugus, Mass.) and sophomore Ryan Castle (Boxford, Mass.) each scored twice on the day. The Lasers held reigning GNAC Player of the Week Colin Dickinson (Barre, Vt.) to just one goal on four attempts.
Phelps was dominate in the faceoff circle winning 18 of the 25 faceoffs and Lasell had a 40 to 26 advantage in ground balls while the Saints owned a slight edge in turnovers, forcing the hosts to commit 21 compared to their 20.
Junior goalie Alex Beauchemin (Westfield, Mass.) earned his third win for Lasell after making 13 saves on 20 shorts. Sophomore Randy Castle (Boxford, Mass.) finished with a season-high 16 saves for the Saints.
Emmanuel returns to action on Saturday, April 3 hosting Rivier University in GNAC action scheduled for an 11:00 AM start at Clemente Field. The Lasers are idle until Tuesday, April 6th against New England College at 4:00 P.M.
