BURGOS & ROSENBERG EARN GNAC WEEKLY HONORS
BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College junior pitcher Olivia Burgos (Newington, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week for Softball and senior goalkeeper Austin Rosenberg (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) has been named the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week for Men’s Lacrosse, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College junior pitcher Olivia Burgos (Newington, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week for Softball and senior goalkeeper Austin Rosenberg (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) has been named the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week for Men's Lacrosse, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Burgos earns GNAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time in her career after throwing a beauty in her 2018 opener against the College of Saint Elizabeth. Burgos tossed a complete-game shutout in Emmanuel's 1-0 victory over the Eagles, allowing just four hits while striking out five in the win. Later in the week, Burgos earned another win in the circle against the University of Pitt-Greensburg by throwing four scoreless innings in the Saints 12-3 victory. The junior scattered three hits while striking out two to improve to 2-0 on the season with a 0.00 ERA over 11 innings pitched.
Over her career, Burgos has posted a 6-9 overall record with 88.0 innings logged. She's posted a combined 4.61 ERA and recorded 40 total strikeouts at Emmanuel.
The Softball team returns to action on Wednesday, March 21 when they head to Emerson College for a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
Rosenberg earned GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the second time in his career and the first time since his sophomore season. The senior set the Emmanuel single-game saves record with 25 stops against Misericordia down in Clearwater, Fla. during EC's Spring Break action. He ended the week with 32 total saves and a .500 save percentage over two games.
Over his career, Rosenberg has appeared in 34 total games with 30 starts. He's tallied 13 wins in the pipes while recording 334 saves to go along with a .528 save percentage to rank second all-time in program history for total saves.
The Men's Lacrosse team returns to action on Thursday, March 14 when they hit the road to face UMass Dartmouth in a 4:00 PM non-conference tilt.
