CURTIS AND DELMONACO EARN ACADEMIC ALL-NEW ENGLAND HONORS
NEWTON, Mass. -- Eighty-nine senior men's lacrosse players have earned selection to the 2016 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Academic All-New England teams.
NEWTON, Mass. -- Emmanuel seniors Nick DelMonaco and Chris Curtis were selected to the 2016 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Academic All-New England teams.
In total, Eighty-nine senior men's lacrosse players have earned selection to the squads.
The teams are nominated by head coaches in Divisions 1, 2, and 3, and are comprised of student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their men's lacrosse career.
Sixty-five student-athletes from 29 different Division 3 institutions met the criteria, which required that nominees must have senior standing, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be a significant enough player that he was nominated for at least All-Conference selection.
Division 1 schools produced 18 Academic All-New England honorees this year, while six student-athletes from Division 2 met the required criteria for inclusion.
Amherst College led all institutions with eight candidates this year, while fellow Division 3 and NESCAC member Middlebury had six selections, a number matched by two Division 1 Ivy League members, Brown University and Harvard University.
