CIBELLI NAMED GNAC MEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AGAIN
BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College junior attack Tony Cibelli (Westboro, Mass.) earned Men's Lacrosse Corvias Player of the Week honors, as announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon. This marks the second time this season he’s earned the honor, also garnering the accolade back on the week of April 4.
BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College junior attack Tony Cibelli (Westboro, Mass.) earned Men's Lacrosse Corvias Player of the Week honors, as announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon. This marks the second time this season he's earned the honor, also garnering the accolade back on the week of April 4.
The junior attack tallied nine points in a 2-0 week for the Saints to help Emmanuel wrap up the program's third consecutive undefeated regular-season slate in GNAC play. Cibelli tallied six points on three goals and three assists in a 19-5 victory over Saint Joseph's College (ME) and ended the regular season with two goals and one assist in a 14-6 win over Albertus Magnus.
Cibelli ranks second on the team in points (44), goals (31) and assists (13) and also has 24 groundballs on the season.
Over his career at Emmanuel, the Westboro, Mass. native has registered 140 points on 94 goals and 46 assists.
Cibelli and the Saints are back in action on Friday, May 6 when they host a GNAC Semifinals contest at 7:00 PM at Roberto Clemente field, facing off against the winner of the No. 4 vs. No. 5 match-up between Johnson & Wales University and Mount Ida College.
