EMMANUEL GOLF TEAM COMPETES IN TRI-MATCH AT CRANSTON COUNTRY CLUB

CRANSTON, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University Men’s Golf Team hosted Rhode Island College and Emmanuel College in a tri-match at Cranston Country Club on Friday afternoon. Rhode Island College had the low team score of 306, paced by Derek Jensen who shot a 74. Johnson & Wales finished the par-71 course with a 348 while Emmanuel posted a 372 on the day.
Sophomore Tim Wolak (Laconia, N.H.) was the low golfer for Johnson & Wales, shooting an 82, the fifth lowest score among the three squads. Sophomore Zach Stefanik (Pembroke, Mass.) shot an 86 for JWU while sophomore Tom Dunne (Topsham, Maine) shot an 88 for the day. Freshman Jimmy Cute (Rehoboth, Mass.) rounded out the JWU golfers for the day, carding a 92 for the Wildcats.
Emmanuel was once again paced by GNAC Rookie of the Week Nicholas Cyrus (Rockland, Mass.), who carded an 85, his low score this season. Team captain Eric Spanbauer (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) shot his second-straight 92, finishing second for the Saints. Sophomore Michael DelSignore’s (Narragansett, R.I.)96 was the third low score for Emmanuel. Freshman Daniel Ferdenzi (Holliston, Mass.) rounded out the top four scorers for the Saints. Junior Patrick Dillon (Bedford, N.H.) was Emmanuel’s fifth golfer, shooting a 100 for the round. The team's total score of 372 is five strokes more than Emmanuel's low score this season. Emmanuel will compete again on October 16th in a tri-match at Putterham Meadows, where the Saints will tee off against Newbury College and Becker College.
