SAINTS OUT-DRIVE NEWBURY IN DUAL-MATCH AT FRANKLIN PARK

DORCHESTER, Mass. - The Emmanuel College Men's Golf Team competed in its second match in two days, taking on Newbury College in a local match played at William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. The Saints won the dual-match, underscoring the Nighthawks, 356 to 392. Emmanuel was coming off a six-team tournament in Granby, Mass. and the Saints were able to knock 16 strokes off their team score from yesterday, en route to the victory over Newbury.
Senior Nicholas Cyrus (Rockland, Mass.) shot an 85 for the second-straight day to lead the host Saints. Cyrus carded a match low with a 39 on the front nine and a 46 on the back. Both Patrick Dillon (Bedford, N.H.) and Michael DelSignore (Narragansett, R.I.) shots 89s, scoring in the second and third slots for Emmanuel. Sophomore Daniel Ferdenzi (Holliston, Mass.) was the fourth scorer for the Saints, carding a 93 on the day.
With two matches under their belts, the Saints will hit the range and then return to competition on September 21st. Emmanuel will compete in the John Queenan Memorial Tournament, hosted by Saint Joseph's College (ME) at the Point Sebago Golf Resort in Casco, Maine.
