EMMANUEL HIGHLIGHTS
- A bogey on the difficult third hole and a bogey on the ninth had Maguire turning in 2-over-par. Maguire's back nine contained five pars and four bogeys, to turn in a card of 76. Playing out of the No. 2 spot, the junior's card finished with six bogeys matched with a dozen pars.
- Sophomore Ian Reynolds (East Haven, Conn.) played solid for Emmanuel, but a triple bogey on the par-4 seventh hole and a double bogey on the par-5 11th hole resulted in a seventh-place finish, following a 9-over round of 79.
- Making his collegiate debut, first-year Matthew Cassarano (Whitman, Mass.) carded an 89, good for a tie for 14th position.
WINNING PERFORMANCES
- Matching Maguire for co-medalist were a pair of Rhode Island College players. Senior Will Niles (Warwick, R.I.) and first-year Jasper Bruins-Slot (Scituate, R.I.), needed pars on the par-5 18th hole to shoot 76 and after doing-so, joined Maguire at the top of the leaderboard.
- The Anchormen cruised to victory in the team event, shooting 314, helped by the co-medalists Niles and Bruins-Slot, while also getting scores of 80 and 82 from sophomore twin brothers Cameron Mello (Somerset, Mass.) and Shane Mello (Somerset, Mass.), respectively.
