MEN’S GOLF TEES UP AT NEWBURY INVITATIONAL
BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Tyler Russ (Exeter, N.H) turned in a team-low score of 84 to lead the Emmanuel College men's golf team at the Newbury Nighthawks Invitational, Wednesday afternoon at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. Tufts University won the tournament finishing with a team score of 287.

Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. Tufts University won the tournament finishing with a team score of 287.
Jumbos sophomore Aaron Cook (Brookline, Mass.) earned medalist honors winning in a card-off, carding a 70 on the day along with teammate, junior Owen Elliott (New York, N.Y.). Sophomore Michael Lefkowitz (Miami, Fla.) was right behind firing a 71 as all five Tufts players turned in scorecards under 80.
Defending New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) champion Babson College finished second with a team-score of 297. First year Benjamin Crawford (Houston, Texas) led the Beavers with a team low score of 72 while senior Chris Maguire (Waltham, Mass.), sophomore Ian Notkin (Caldwell, N.J.) and first year Riley Whitham(Harvard, Mass.) each carded 75.
The Saints finished tied for 10th overall with a team score of 350. Senior Curtis Fraser (Hopkinton, N.H.) along with freshman David Byrne (Newport, R.I.) both carded an 87 on the day while senior Barrett Wingard (York, Pa.) posted a 92 in his first collegiate match. Rounding out the Emmanuel five was senior Michael Rague (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) with a 93 on the card.
Emmanuel will be back in action this weekend when they travel to East Longmeadow, Mass. to compete in the Elms College Blazer Invitational played at Elmcrest Country Club.
