Bio

Isaac Miller joined the Emmanuel College Athletic Department staff in September of 2014 as an Assistant Coach for the Saints Men’s Basketball Team.  Miller brings with him a wealth of experience, playing and coaching at many different levels.

Miller earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in History, graduating from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. in 1997. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Massachusetts - Boston in 2014.

After playing Division II collegiate basketball for MercyCollege, Miller went on to play for the Springfield Slamm Professional Basketball Club in Eastern Massachusetts from 1997-1999, along with Emmanuel Head Coach Jamahl Jackson. Miller helped lead the Slamm to a league title in the program’s inaugural season.  He later served as an Assistant Coach for Slamm from 2005-2012.

Miller also played professional ball for nine seasons during the summers for the Superior Basketball League in Puerto Rico with stints on the Carolina Giants (90-92), Aguadilla Sharks (92-93), Aguada Wizards (93-95), Isabela Gamecocks (96-98) and the Santurce Crabbers (99).

Miller currently works full time as a social studies and history teacher at Tech Boston Academy in Dorchester, Mass., where he previously assisted with the high school boys’ basketball program during the 2013-14 season.  Prior to teaching in Boston, Miller taught middle school and high school social studiesand history in the Hartford Public Schools from 2006-2013 and coached middle school and high school basketball in Connecticut.

Miller has also been a Transportation Officer and Captain in theUnited States Army Reserves since 2003.
