Saints Cross Country Heads to Maine for Saturday's GNAC Championship Meet
BOSTON - The Emmanuel College Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country teams will travel to Standish, Maine for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 4, hosted by Saint Joseph’s College (ME). The women’s team is set to race the 6K at 11:00 a.m., followed by the men’s 8K, with a start time of 12:15 p.m.

The Pre-Championship Coaches Poll is set to be announced by the GNAC Office on Friday morning, providing insight on the potential contenders for the team title.
SAINTS TO WATCH FOR (Women's 6K)
Senior Emma Krantz (Manchester, N.H.) performed well in last year's GNAC Championship, helping the Women's team take home the third-place prize, after an 11th-place individual finish in the 6K, resulting in an All-Conference Second Team nod. Back on Sept. 16, Krantz won the individual title at the Elms Blazers XC Classic, with a 6K time of 26:33.6, collecting the 7th-best 6K time in the GNAC in that race.
First-year Heidi Li (Braintree, Mass.) looks to make her mark in the GNAC Championship, currently holding the 14th-best 6K time at 28:45.1. Fellow first-year Mia Demore (Framingham, Mass.) will also take in her first collegiate championship experience, after earning a career-best 6K time at the Elms Blazer XC Classic of 30:38.1.
SAINTS TO WATCH FOR (Men's 8K)
First-year, Nick Ware (Rehoboth, Mass.) will compete for the Saints in his first championship this weekend. He holds the 16th-best 8K time in the GNAC at 30:07.2 from his race at the Suffolk Invitational on Oct. 14. Ware collected a second-place finish at the Elms Blazers XC Classic to lead the Men's team to a first-place victory.
Sophomores Monet Elias (Westwood, Mass.) and Andrew Kubaska (Cumberland, R.I.) will compete in the 8K currently holding personal best times of 32:10.8 at the KSC Invitational 31:52.8 at the Codfish Bowl, respectively.
