Cameron Crowned Individual Winner at Elms XC Classic
CHICOPEE, Mass. - Saints senior Elizabeth Cameron (Raynham, Mass.) came out of Saturday’s 6K with a time of 25:27, winning the individual honors at the Elms Blazers Cross Country Classic. Cameron is the first Saints women’s cross country runner to claim an individual win since Jordyn Gonsor took first place in the 2017 Fens Classic.

THE LEAD – Saints senior Elizabeth Cameron (Raynham, Mass.) came out of Saturday's 6K with a time of 25:27, winning the individual honors at the Elms Blazers Cross Country Classic. Cameron is the first Saints women's cross country runner to claim an individual win since Jordyn Gonsor took first place in the 2017 Fens Classic.
EMMANUEL HIGHLIGHTS
- In the first 6K of the 2022 season for the women's program, Cameron saved the third-best time of her collegiate runner career to claim first place in the event.
- Two other Saints cracked the top-five in the Blazers XC Classic. Junior Emma Krantz (Manchester, N.H.) placed fourth in the event, following a time of 27:24 while senior Mia Rowell (Candia, N.H.) turned in a personal-best 6K and a fifth-place finish with a time of 28:13.
- Senior Kate Elliott (Carmel, Ind.) added a 12th place finish for the Saints, posting a time of 30:42.
- On the men's side, in an 8K, first-year Mikel Lacroix (Cumberland, R.I.) had his best finish to date; a 14th place spot, following a time of 34:10.
- First-year Adam Von-Maszewski (Westborough, Mass.) came in with a time of 37:18, good for 28th in the event.
WINNING PERFORMANCES
- In the women's team event, Western New England eked out a two-point win over the Saints, as five counting scores in the top-12 for WNE led them to 31 points, just besting Emmanuel's 33.
- In the men's event, despite an individual win for University of St. Joseph sophomore Braeden Laframboise (Southington, Conn.), it was WNE earning the team sweep, as the Golden Bears took the next five positions in the race, leading to 20 total points, besting second place by 63.

- The Saints are off until October, returning on the first of the month with a trip to Keene State for the Keene State Invitational.
