CARTY NAMED CORVIAS GNAC RUNNER OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND TIME
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College sophomore Patrick Carty (Sweeden, Maine) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Carty's weekly conference honor comes after leading the Saints at the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday. Carty raced to a 17th place finish out of the field of 105 total runners on the course up in Brunswick, Maine.
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College sophomore Patrick Carty (Sweeden, Maine) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Carty's weekly conference honor comes after leading the Saints at the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday. Carty raced to a 17th place finish out of the field of 105 total runners on the course up in Brunswick, Maine.
Carty finished his 8k race in 27:58 to pace the Saints. The sophomore has finished first for Emmanuel in both meets this season.
The sophomore is receiving the GNAC Runner of the Week honor for the second time this season. He was also honored on September 4th, after crossing the line 2nd overall at the Fens Classic. Last year, as a freshman, Carty earned GNAC Second Team All-Conference honors with an eighth place finish the 2016 GNAC Championship meet.
The Men's Cross Country Team will be back in action one week from Saturday, as the Saints compete at their Franklin Park home course for the Codfish Bowl Championship.
