Nick Sczerbinski, Assistant Sports Information Director: How has the semester been for each of you so far?
Senior captain Sarah Barnard: It's been good, very busy since it's senior year, always a lot going on. I've been trying to set up my student teaching for next semester and trying to figure out where I'm going to be placed. It's stressful, but it's good.
Senior captain Julie Roberts: My semester is going well, I'm taking a lot of general requirement classes this semester so the workload isn't too much. But, I'm going to be applying to grad school soon so that's next. I'm going to get my Master's in public health and nutrition and become a registered dietician.
NS: How has the team met your standards and goals that you set in the preseason?
JR: The team is doing really well, we've beaten every GNAC school that we've run against so far. It's hard to tell with the races sometimes because you go against so many different teams at different levels, but the team is holding our own. We definitely have a real good shot at GNACs this year.
SB: I think everyone has been doing really well, not too many injuries or anything. This past weekend, we had the meet at Franklin Park and everyone ran reasonably well and the weather was good.
NS: How impressive has Margaret McCaffrey been so far in her first few meets?
JR: She's done very well, she's significantly faster than a lot of us are. The adjustment as a freshman is always tough for anyone, but she has done extremely well.
SB: We knew she was going to be good, but I think she's exceeded all expectations. She's really showing us how good of a runner she is and how strong she is.
NS: Does it push you as a senior, seeing a freshman run at the level that she has been?
JR: It definitely motivates you to try to move a little faster in the races, but it comes down to ability and you can only go so far so fast.
