SAINTS SHINE AT NEW ENGLAND DIVISION III CHAMPIONSHIPS

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Qualifying members of the Emmanuel Men's and Women's Track & Field Teams competed in the New England Division III Track & Field Championships at Springfield College over the weekend. Two Emmanuel athletes earned All-New England honors, while others improved their program records or personal best performances.
On Friday evening, May 1st, senior Cathryn Lariviere (Windham, N.H.) placed 10th in the 10K. Lariviere finished the race with a personal best time of 39:50.01. The remaining qualifying Saints competed on Saturday, May 2nd.
Emmanuel's freshman student-athlete of the year, Christopher Conway (Norton, Mass.) placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles, setting a new program record with a time of 15.35. Conway's performance earned him All-New England honors and he is currently ranked 5th in New England. Sophomore Ben Cleveland (Auburn, Maine) also earned All-New England status for his 400-meter performance. Cleveland placed third with a school record time of 49.69. Cleveland is presently ranked 10th in New England. In addition, Cleveland placed 9th in the 200-meters, running 22.69.
The women's 4x100 meter relay team consisting of freshman Darlene Charles (Dorchester, Mass.), sophomore Irene Limlengco (Brookline, Mass.), freshman Nacy Brandao (Dorchester, Mass) and Katasi Kulubya (Anaheim, Calif.) improved the program record with a cumulative time of 53.43.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team consisting of junior Dan D'Amato (Huntington, Mass.), freshman Wesley Cowles (Hebron, Conn.), sophomore Andrew Heath (Stanford, Conn.) and Cleveland ran a cumulative time of 3:30.21.
Cleveland, Conway and Lariviere will return to Springfield College on Thursday, May 14th and Friday, May 15th to compete in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic (ECAC) Championships.
