SAINTS POST FINE PERFORMANCES AT TUFTS SNOWFLAKE CLASSIC

MEDFORD, Mass. - The Emmanuel College Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Teams competed at Tufts University's Snowflake Classic on Saturday afternoon. The weather was mild and accommodating for the Saints, but the latter portion of the day transitioned to cool and muscle tightening conditions. Despite the cold, the Saints made out well and ended the day with several fine performances, including two ECAC qualifiers and three New England Division III qualifiers.
Sophomore Ben Cleveland (Auburn, Maine) placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 22.63. Cleveland's performance earned him the school record and qualified him for the New England Division III Track & Field Championships. He also placed 6th in the 400 meters, running his personal best of 51.62. Freshman Christopher Conway (Norton, Mass.) qualified for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic (ECAC) Championships in the 110 meter hurdles with a personal best trial time of 15.77. He place third overall with his final time of 15.83. Freshman Stephen Armstrong (Revere, Mass.) set a new school record with his 5K performance, running 16:36.52. Freshman Wesley Cowles (Hebron, Conn.) ran the 1500 meters with a personal best time of 4:30.97. Sophomore Andrew Heath (Stanford, Conn.) ran his personal best in the 200 meters with a time of 23.75. Junior Dan D'Amato (Huntington, Mass.) wasn't far behind, running his personal best in 24.01. Sophomore Alex Lucier (Northbridge, Mass.) long jumped his first meet of the outdoor season in 19'4.25".
Senior Cathryn Lariviere (Windham, N.H.) placed second in the 10K and qualified for the ECAC Championships with a time of 39:58.78. Freshman Brittany Sorice (Dover, N.H.) ran her personal bests in the 400 and 800 meters, running 65.19 and 2:38.42, respectively. Sophomore Victoria Cole (Carver, Mass.) ran her personal best in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:42.34. Freshman Marissa LaFlamme (Newburyport, Mass.) was not far behind, finishing with a time of 5:44.98. Freshman Katasi Kulubya (Anaheim, Calif.) set a school record in the 200 meters with a time of 28.06. Kulubya also ran the 100 meter dash in 13.77. Freshman and newcomer Elizabeth Brooks (Charlton, Mass.) debuted in the 100 meters with a time of 14.15. The women's 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of sophomores Kelsey Fitzpatrick (Milford, Mass.), Irene Limlengco (Brookline, Mass.), freshman Nacy Brandao (Dorchester, Mass.) and Kulubya set a new school record, running a cumulative time of 53.99.
