Student-Athlete of the Week
March 9, 2009
Emmanuel College's Christopher Conway (Norton, Mass.) became the Indoor Track & Field program's very first student-athlete to win an ECAC title. He placed 1st in the men's 55-meter hurdles at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on March 7th. Conway's first place finish helped the Saints place 32nd overall. The freshman sensation's 55-meter hurdle time was 7.73. This was his second-best time ever as a Saint. Conway ran 7.72 and recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying time at the Division III New England Championship on February 21st. Conway finished the season with a Division III ranking of 17th in the country. His provisional qualifying time left him just .05 seconds shy of being able to participate in the national championship. The NCAA selected the top 13 athletes and Conway wrapped up the season as the 17th ranked Division III hurdler.
