INDOOR TRACK TEAMS WRAP UP SEMESTER AT HARVARD OPEN

The Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Teams competed at the Harvard University Open on Saturday afternoon. The Saints faced tough competition against numerous NCAA Division I and II opponents. Several Emmanuel student-athletes were able to finish among the top 15 in their respective events. Sophomore Sarah Soldano (Bethel, CT) broke the Emmanuel record in the long jump (15'0.25"), tied the record in the high jump (5'1"), and also qualified for the New England Division III Championship. Junior Christine Gaspar (Attleboro, MA) finished 8th in the 5k with a time of 19:38.65. Emmanuel alum Betsy Suda, who is now running for the Boston Athletic Association, finished 3rd in the 5K race. Junior Cat Lariviere (Windham, NH) improved on last week's performance in the 3k with her 7th place finish and a time of 11:24.74. Freshman Ryan Maher (Gales Ferry, CT) finished 12th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.06.
Several team members improved on their personal bests. Senior Mike Thurnauer (Reading, MA) improved by over a foot in the long jump (19'2"). Sophomore Pat Welton (Derby, CT) achieved his personal bests in the 400m and the long jump. Freshmen Ben Cleveland (Auburn, ME) and Alison Lynch (Pawtucket, RI) improved on their times in the 500m from last week. Sophomore Rob Littleton (Plymouth, MA) improved his 60m and 200m times. Freshman Randall Owen (Mansfield, MA) lowered his times in the 200m and 400m, while freshman Victoria Ibrahim (Marshfield, MA) improved in the shot put.
