SAINTS POST FINE PERFORMANCES AT SMITH'S TARTAN INVITATIONAL

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel men's and women's track teams competed in the Tartan Invitational held at Smith College on Saturday afternoon. The Saints posted numerous fine performances on the day, including an improvement on an ECAC qualifying time by Christopher Conway (Norton, Mass.) and program records set by Ben Cleveland (Auburn, Maine), Jordan Coulombe (Saco, Maine), Cathryn Lariviere (Windham, N.H.), and the women's 4 x 800-meter relay team.
Emmanuel's rookie Christopher Conway won the 55-meter hurdles with a winning time of 7.89. He improved his school record and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) time during the preliminaries with a time of 7.83. Sophomore Ben Cleveland placed seventh in the 400 meters and earned himself the school record with a time of 52.20. Junior Dan D'Amato (Huntington, Mass.) ran his best time of the season in the 400 meters, posting 53.20. Freshman Jordon Coulombe placed sixth in the high jump, clearing 5'9.25" and earning him the school record.
Senior Cathryn Lariviere ran the 800 meters with a third place time of 2:32.14, which earned her the school record. Freshman Jessica Robinson (Holliston, Mass.) shaved her 400 meter time running 66.62. The record-setting 4 x 800 relay team of Lariviere, freshman Brittany Sorice (Dover, N.H.), and sophomores Victoria Cole (Carver, Mass.) and Maureen Kellett (Westborough, Mass.) placed fourth with a time of 11:06.89.
