Indoor Track & Field Starts 2022 at Ramapo College Opener
BOSTON - The Emmanuel College track & field program made their long-awaited return to action on Friday afternoon, traveling down to New York City to participate in the Ramapo College Season Opener at The Armory T&F Center. It’s the first indoor meet for the Saints in over a month and marks their first event of 2022.

THE LEAD – The Emmanuel College track & field program made their long-awaited return to action on Friday afternoon, traveling down to New York City to participate in the Ramapo College Season Opener at The Armory T&F Center. It's the first indoor meet for the Saints in over a month and marks their first event of 2022.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Saints senior Caileigh Blackmer (Warwick, R.I.) backed up a fourth-place finish in the Saints first meet with a sixth-place finish in the weight throw on Friday. Blackmer's throw went 11.47 meters and secured three points for the Saints in the team standings.
- Sophomore Sasha Hyacinthe (Stoughton, Mass.) recorded an eighth-place finish and new PR in the shot put after a throw of 9.54 meters. The new PR also added a point for the Saints in the team standings.
- Sophomore Emma Krantz (Manchester, N.H.) set a PR in the mile run with a time of 6:27.26. First-year Naomi Obenhaus (Sabattus, Maine) finished with PRs in the 60 meters (9.27s) and the 200 meters (31.45s) while classmate Sofia Wise (Braintree, Mass.) had a PR in the 800 meters (3:05.49).
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Saints senior Joey Reed (Rehoboth, Mass.) took seventh place in the triple jump while earning a PR in the event at 12.48 meters. Reed's finish secured two points for the Saints in the team standings.
- Junior Sidney Edouard (Medford, Mass.) earned a pair of PRs on the track, first in the 60 meters (7.98s), followed by the 400 meters (59.15s). First-year Patrick Hill (Barrington, N.H.) beat his best mile, turning in a PR with a time of 4:52.28.
- In the shot put, Saints sophomore Joe Kanaan (Whitman, Mass.) recorded a PR with a throw of 7.80 meters.

- The Saints are back in a week on Jan. 28 and 29 to compete in the Branwen King-Smith Invite hosted by Tufts University.
