Schneider Breaks Pentathlon Record & Fitzpatrick Qualifies at Branwen Smith-King Invitational
MEDFORD, Mass. - Senior captain Jackie Schneider (Wemouth, Mass.) set the Emmanuel College Indoor Track & Field record in the Pentathlon and sophomore Hannah Fitzpatrick (Revere, Mass.) qualified for the New England Regionals in the 800m event to highlight a strong weekend for the Saints at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational hosted by Tufts University.

THE LEAD: Senior captain Jackie Schneider (Wemouth, Mass.) set the Emmanuel College Indoor Track & Field record in the Pentathlon and sophomore Hannah Fitzpatrick (Revere, Mass.) qualified for the New England Regionals in the 800m event to highlight a strong weekend for the Saints at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational hosted by Tufts University.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Schneider scored 2,735 points in the Pentathlon, breaking her own record by more than 100 points.
- Fitzpatrick posted a time of 2:27.21 in the 800m race to finish 12th overall in a very fast field, qualifying for the New England Regionals.
- Sophomore Kennedy Davignon (Woodstock, Conn.) enjoyed another strong weekend, posting a pair of PR's in the 200m (28.30) and the 400m (1:05.25).
- Sophomore Caleigh Blackmer (Warwick, R.I.) also PR'd during the action in the Weight Throw, with a toss of 12.25m (40'2.25").
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Luke Elson (Ashaway, R.I) recorded a PR in the 60m dash, clocking in at 7.56 seconds for a 23rd place finish in the event. He also knocked some time off his performance from last week in the 400m race, finishing in 53.63 for an 18th place finish.
- Junior Kyle Hajj (Methuen, Mass.) was just 0.31 seconds off his PR time in the 800m, finishing in 8th place with a time of 2:05.47.
- Sophomore Joseph Reed (Rehoboth, Mass.) picked up a PR in the triple jump with a leap of 11.88m (38'11.75") for a 12th place finish.
- Freshman Alonzo Fluellen Jr. (Phenix City, Ala.) represented the Saints well in the throwing events, recording a 12.12m toss in the Shot Put and a 9.73m throw in the Weight Throw.

- The Saints return to action next weekend, heading to Plymouth, N.H. to compete at the Plymouth State University Panther Invitational on Saturday, February 8 at 11:00 AM.
