INDOOR TRACK CLOSES SEASON AT D-III NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Emmanuel College indoor track & field season came to a close Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III New England Championships held on the campus of Middlebury College. Eight women represented the Saints during the afternoon that saw the MIT Engineers take home the team crown with 123.30 total points.

Eight women represented the Saints during the afternoon that saw the MIT Engineers take home the team crown with 123.30 total points.
Junior Ashely Brooks (Danvers, Mass.) had the best individual performance on the day placing 13th overall in the High Jump. Brooks cleared 5'0.25, just finishing outside the top 10 in New England due to the order in which she converted her jump. The two jumpers finishing tied for 10th, who also cleared the same height as Brooks, were able to clear the level on their first attempt while Brooks needed two tries to convert the 5'0.25 height, dropping her out of the top 10.
The Saints 4 X 400m meter relay team finished 18th overall with a time of 4:22.18. Junior Micaela Fraccalossi (Plymouth, Mass.) ran the first leg of the event at 66.76 followed by freshman Reilly Boyle (Wells, Maine) who ran the second leg at an impressive 63.88. Sophomore Nicole Varca (Wethersfield, Conn.) clocked in a time of 65.69 in the third leg while senior Zoe Pierce-Dickens (Franklin, Vt.) anchored the squad with a fourth-leg time of 65.85.
Pierce-Dickens and Fraccalossi teamed up with sophomore Sara Ciochetti (Watertown, Conn.) and junior Mellyn Costello (Canton, Mass.) in the 4 X 200m relay. The four raced to a 21st place finish with a combined time of 1:54.19. Pierce-Dickens opened the race with a 200m time of 28.97 followed by Costello's second leg time of 28.50. Ciochetti clocked in a third leg time of 29.13 while Fraccalossi finished strong with a final leg time of 27.59.
The only other Emmanuel student-athlete competing during the championship was senior Chloe Pangonis (Keene, N.H.). Pangonis raced in the 800m event, finish 22nd overall with a time of 2:30.62.
As the Saints indoor seasons comes to a close, many members of the squad will began transitioning immediately to the outdoor schedule which opens on Saturday, March 26 at Wesleyan University.
