16 SAINTS POST PERSONAL BESTS AT CARISELLA INVITATIONAL
BOSTON, Mass. - 16 student-athletes posted personal bests for the Emmanuel College Indoor Track & Field squad at the Reggie Lewis Center in Northeastern University's Jay Carisella Invitational on Saturday.

For the second consecutive week, senior Chloe Pangonis (Keene, N.H.) ran a personal best in the 800m run, placing eighth with a time of 2:27.80. Sophomore Nicole Varca (Wethersfield, Conn.) and junior Elisa Cantito (Middlebury, Conn.) also posted personal bests in the same event, as Varca finished 12th in 2:31.78 and Cantito was 19th with a time of 3:02.01.
Freshman Mimi Duncan (Portsmouth, N.H.) was the 12th runner to cross the line in the mile run. The All-GNAC cross country runner posted a personal best of 5:46.08.
The Saints had two runners compete in the women's 500m dash and freshmen Reilly Boyle (Wells, Maine), 1:26.06, and Angela Brocco (Levittown, N.Y.), 1:35.04, ran personal bests, finishing 13th and 15th respectively.
Fellow frosh Cara Corey (Readfield, Maine) ran a personal best of 32.65 in the 200m dash.
On the men's side, three Saints finished in the top 20 in the 800m run, as freshman Jefferson Zannoni (Merrimack, N.H.) ,2:09.03, and seniors Corey Hebert (Acushnet, Mass.), 2:09.06, and Craig Schoaf (Raynham, Mass.), 2:14.18, all crossed the line with quality times. Like Zannoni and Hebert, sophomore Oscar Tellez (New Britain, Conn.) ran a personal best in the event, finished 23rd with a time of 2:17.80.
All-GNAC Cross Country runner Ian Chamenko (Beacon Falls, Conn.) finished 18th in the mile run, fourth amongst non-Division One competitors. The junior's time of 4:39.50 was a new personal best and he was joined by senior teammate Thomas Tallo (Lincoln, R.I.) eight seconds later, as Tallo crossed the line with a PB of 4:47.77.
Both Chamenko and Tallo joined Schoaf and Zannoni in the 4x800m relay and the team finished fourth with a total time of 8:51.03.
Two more personal bests were acheived in the men's 60m preliminaries as sophomore Francisco Tavares (Boston, Mass.) and freshman Daniel Lachance (Raynham, Mass.) completed the sprint in 7.36s and 9.21s, respectively.
Tavares was Emmanuel's top finisher in the 200m dash, clocking a 23.70s. He was backed up by two more PBs from freshman Kevin Orsley (26.18s) and senior Zachary Bohn (Acushnet, Mass.), 27.11s.
The Saints will enjoy the holiday break before returning to action at the Tufts Invitational in Medford, Mass. on Saturday, January 16.
