Senior Spotlight Series - Allison Hutchings - Women's Lacrosse
With the sudden end to the 2020 spring seasons due to the CoVID19 epidemic, the Emmanuel College Athletic Department wanted to take a moment to recognize members of the class of 2020 during the final semester of their senior season at Emmanuel College. The Senior Spotlight Series was a chance for our community as Saints to give each of these individuals the notoriety and recognition they all deserve while getting a little behind the scenes glimpse into their lives outside the uniform.

Participation in this series was optional and we're grateful to have heard from so many wonderful representatives from our senior class. While their careers at Emmanuel may be coming to a close, their lives as Saints are just beginning.

SSS Q&A
1) What was your favorite memory related to your women's lacrosse experience?
My favorite memory related to lacrosse at Emmanuel was my sophomore year when we played Simmons on senior night for our last season game. We hadn't had the best record that season, but Simmons was always a game we looked forward to. We fought really hard that game and ended up winning 11-10 after being down by 2 at the half. Kylie and I scored the last two goals to lock in the win which was really exciting!
2) Favorite pre-game playlist song?
My favorite pre-game playlist song is BOP by Dababy.
3) Proudest athletic accomplishment/achievement at Emmanuel?
My proudest athletic accomplishment/achievement at Emmanuel would be having the opportunity to play in every single game since my freshman year and making it into playoffs 2 out of 3 years.
4) What game/opponent did you always look forward to every season?
Norwich and Simmons were always two really good and intense games that I looked forward to every season.
5) Other than your own sport/team, what was your favorite EC athletic program to support and why?
One other sports team that was my fav to support was probably women's and men's basketball! Women's basketball was always so much fun to watch, and I was so impressed with the men's basketball and their ability to turn their program around and become such a great team!
6) One thing you'll miss the most about being on the women's lacrosse team at EC?
One thing I will miss most about being on a team at EC is having a built-in family right there at all times. Being nervous about going into college, I knew I would make most of my friends by being on the lacrosse team. These friends have turned into friends for life and family, and I couldn't be more thankful for everyone I have had the honor of playing with the last four years!
7) Tell us something most people probably don't know about you that relates to your sport.
One thing most people probably don't know is that I have played lacrosse since the 4th grade and that I played defense my junior and senior years of high school which is the position I got my athletic awards in. Going into college I knew I wanted to switch back to attack, and four years later I really couldn't picture myself playing defense again!
8) Give one shout out/thank you to someone who impacted your EC Athletic experience.
One person I would like to shout out for impacting my EC athletic experience is my mom. If it wasn't for her, I probably would have never even started lacrosse in the first place. She has been my biggest supporter and cheerleader since the very beginning and I could not appreciate everything she has done for me more. (Also special shout out to Goon Squad).
9) What are your post-grad plans?
My post-grad plans are to eventually get my master's degree and become either a middle school or high school English teacher.
10) Give some advice or words of wisdom to future Saints.
Don't take these four years for granted! Although they seem like they might be the longest four years of your life, trust me, they go by even faster than high school! Stay true to yourself and stay positive.
Thank you, Allison, for your commiment and dedication to Emmanuel College Athletics and the Women's Lacrosse program! Check back in every Tuesday and Thursday for more content from the Senior Spotlight Series!
