Ramirez-Tejeda Opens 2019-20 Season with GNAC Co-Player of the Week Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior guard Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda (Cambridge, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week it was announced on Monday afternoon by the conference office. This marks the seventh time of her career that she has been named the GNAC Player of the Week, earning the honor once as a sophomore and five times last season as a junior.

The Cambridge, Mass. native averaged 22.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week, while shooting 59.4% (19-32 FG) overall. The senior opened the year with a 26-point, 14-rebound double-double in a blowout victory over Saint Joseph's College (BK) before closing the weekend with 19 points and 12 boards vs. St. John Fisher College in the 36th Annual EC Tip-Off Classic Championship game. She was named to the Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament team for her efforts, adding seven assists and five steals to round out the week. 

She shared the honor with Colby-Sawyer College senior center Tianna Sugars (Oxford, Maine) who averaged 21.7 points and 12.7 rebounds in a 3-0 week for the Chargers, shooting 46.9% from the floor and reaching her 1,000th career point during.

Earlier this season, Ramirez-Tejeda was tabbed a D3Hoops.com Preseason All-American after averaging 20.9 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 55.9% (275-492) from the floor during her junior season, after which she was named First Team All-Conference, NEWBA Second Team All-Region, and D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region.

Emmanuel returns to action on Tuesday, November 19 when they host Connecticut College at 7:00 PM in non-conference play at the Andy Yosinoff Court.
