EMMANUEL WELL REPRESENTED ON GNAC ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

WINTHROP, Mass. - A total of 822 student-athletes have been named to the 2014-15 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by GNAC Commissioner Joe Walsh earlier this week. Emmanuel College was well represented on the list with 109 representatives, a conference-best, making up 13.25% of the GNAC’s Academic All-Conference selections.

2014-15 WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SEASON IN REVIEW

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Women’s Basketball Team posted another very successful season, as the Saints rolled through Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play with an unblemished conference record of 11-0. The Saints finished the year with an overall mark of 19-11, after advancing to the finals of the GNAC Tournament and to the semifinals of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament.

SAINTS FALL TO BRANDEIS, 91-78, IN ECAC SEMIFINAL

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Women’s Basketball season came to a close on Saturday afternoon, when the No. 2 Saints were upset by No. 6 Brandeis University, 91-78, in the semifinal round of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament. The Judges (15-12), hosting the semifinal and championship rounds of the tourney, out-rebounded the visiting Saints 53-34 in the second round contest and will now advance to the ECAC Championship game on Sunday at 1:00 PM. Emmanuel’s post-season ends with an overall record of 19-11.

EMMANUEL TOPS CURRY, 63-53, IN ECAC QUARTERFINAL

BOSTON, Mass. – Four players scored in double-figures to lead No. 2 Emmanuel College past No. 7 Curry College, 63-53, in the Quarterfinal round of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Women’s Basketball Championship Wednesday evening in the Jean Yawkey Center Gymnasium. The Saints improve to 19-10 on the year while the loss ends Curry’s season with a 17-12 mark.

YOSINOFF NAMED GNAC COACH OF THE YEAR; HIGGINS, BUJNOWSKI TABBED ALL-GNAC

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College women’s basketball Head Coach Andy Yosinoff has been named the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. This marks the fourth time in his coaching career that his GNAC coaching peers have honored him as he also was tabbed the GNAC Coach of the Year in 1996, 2001 and 2004. With this release, the conference office also announced the 2015 GNAC All-Conference squad which included Emmanuel junior guard Sarah Higgins (Groveland, Mass.) and senior center Jennifer Bujnowski (Salem, N.H.).

WOMEN’S HOOPS EARNS NO. 2 SEED IN ECAC TOURNAMENT BID

BOSTON, Mass. –– Despite suffering an upset in last week's GNAC Women's Basketball Championship, the Emmanuel College Saints will have a shot at some March Madness after all. Although they will not head to the "big dance" this season, the Saints have earned the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship and will play host to the No. 7-seeded Curry College Colonels on Wednesday night. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 PM in the Jean Yawkey Center.

JWU UPSETS EMMANUEL TO WIN PROGRAM'S 1ST GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP

BOSTON, Mass. – No. 3 Johnson & Wales University (19-9) won the program’s first-ever Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship, pulling off a stunning 74-66 upset victory over top-seeded Emmanuel College (18-10) in the conference title game played in Emmanuel’s Jean Yawkey Center on Saturday afternoon. The upset win was the second-straight upset for the Wildcats, who downed No. 2 Norwich University on Thursday to advance to the conference championship.

SAINTS SURVIVE OVER SUFFOLK, 66-65, TO ADVANCE TO GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior forward Sarah Higgins’ (Groveland, Mass.) free throw with 5.3 seconds in regulation lifted No. 1 Emmanuel College over No. 4 Suffolk University,66-65, in the semifinal round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s basketball tournament Thursday evening in the Jean Yawkey Center. With the win, the top-seeded Saints will now host No. 3 Johnson & Wales University in GNAC Championship on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ADVANCES TO GNAC SEMIFINALS WITH 77-52 WIN OVER ALBERTUS MAGNUS

BOSTON, Mass. – No. 1 Emmanuel College took care of No. 8 Albertus Magnus College, 77-52, in the quarterfinal round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s basketball tournament on Tuesday night in the Jean Yawkey Center. With the first-round win, the top-seeded Saints (17-9) will now host 4th-seeded Suffolk University in GNAC semifinal action on Thursday night. Albertus Magnus ends its season at 11-15 overall.

HIGGINS NAMED GNAC WOMEN’S HOOP PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College junior Sarah Higgins wrapped up the regular season by being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The Groveland, Mass. native led the Saints to a pair of GNAC wins last week, as Emmanuel finished regular-season play with a perfect 11-0 record.

WOMEN’S HOOPS TO HOST ALBERTUS MAGNUS IN 2015 GNAC QUARTERFINALS

BOSTON, Mass. – For the 15th consecutive season, the Emmanuel College women’s basketball team clinched the No. 1 seed heading into the Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament. The Saints wrapped the regular season with an overall mark of 16-9 and a perfect 11-0 record in league play for their fifth straight undefeated conference campaign. The program has amassed 63 consecutive regular season league victories and has not lost a GNAC regular season tilt since a 70-67 home loss to Emerson College on February 9, 2010. Emmanuel will host No. 8 seed, Albertus Magnus College, on February 24 at the Yawkey Center in Boston, Mass.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DOWNS SIMMONS, 82-51, FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT PERFECT CONFERENCE SLATE

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forward Jennifer Bujnowski (Salem, N.H.) led a balanced scoring attack with 16 points to fuel the Emmanuel College women’s basketball team’s 82-51 victory over host Simmons College this afternoon at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass in the final Great Northeast Athletic Conference regular season contest of the season.

SAINTS DOWN AMCATS, 71-43, IN PLAY4KAY GAME

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College overpowered Anna Maria College, 71-43, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s basketball action played in the Jean Yawkey Center on Tuesday night. The game marked Emmanuel’s Play-4-Kay event. The players, coaching staffs, operations crew and fans wore pink and the referees officiated the game with pink whistles as part of a nationwide effort to promote breast cancer awareness.

SAINTS MAKE IT 60-STRAIGHT AND CLINCH 1ST WITH HUGE WIN AT SAINT JOE'S

STANDISH, Maine – Emmanuel College (14-9, 9-0 GNAC) defeated Saint Joseph's College (15-7, 6-3 GNAC), 84-68, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's basketball action at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday. The victory marked the Saints' 60th-consecutive regular season GNAC victory, a streak dating back to the 2009-2010 season. The win also clinched first place in the conference for the visiting Saints, who still have two conference games left to play.

WOMEN’S HOOP POSTS WIN ON SENIOR DAY

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s basketball team celebrated senior day with a 91-39 Great Northeast Athletic Confernece (GNAC) win over the visiting Mustangs of Mount Ida College on Saturday afternoon in the Jean Yawkey Center. With the victory, Emmanuel improves to 13-9 on the season and a perfect 8-0 in the conference, while the loss drops Mount Ida to 6-16 overall and 0-8 in league play.

WOMEN’S HOOPS OUTLASTS SAINT JOSEPH (CT), 87-72

BOSTON, Mass. – Three players posted double figures to lead the Emmanuel College women’s basketball team past University of Saint Joseph (CT), 87-72. With the victory, the Saints improve to 12-9 overall and 7-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play while the loss drops the Blue Jays to 7-13 and 2-4.
