ATHLETES HONORED AT STUDENT LEADERSHIP RECEPTION

BOSTON, Mass. – Nine student-athletes, as well as Director of Athletics Pam Roecker, were honored last week at Emmanuel’s 13th Annual Student Leadership Reception sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and Multicultural Programs. 2013 MEN'S SOCCER SEASON IN REVIEW

BOSTON, Mass. – After a disappointing campaign in 2012, the Emmanuel College men’s soccer team rebounded in 2013 to post a 9-12 record and return to the GNAC playoffs for just the third time in the past seven seasons.

FOLEY & FIELD NAMED TO ALL-GNAC MEN’S SOCCER SQUADS

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore midfielder David Field (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and freshman defender Zach Foley (Uncasville, Conn.) have been selected to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer All-Conference Third Team, it was announced by the conference office.

MEN'S SOCCER BLANKED BY JWU, 3-0, IN GNAC QUARTERFINALS

Providence, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University men’s soccer team posted a 3-0 win over Emmanuel in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex on Sunday afternoon.

MEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO MIT IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Scoring its first goal twenty minutes into the first half, the MIT men’s soccer team put away visiting Emmanuel College, 3-1, in the final non-conference game of the season. The season finale was played on a crisp Wednesday evening on the Engineers’ home turf. With his 19th goal this year, MIT sophomore Sean Bingham (Garden City, N.Y.) broke the Institute record for most goals scored in a single season. Tech improved to 12-3-1 with the victory, while the Saints dipped to 9-11 with the loss.

FOLEY LIFTS EMMANUEL MEN’S SOCCER PAST ALBERTUS MAGNUS, 1-0

BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman defender Zach Foley (Uncasville, Conn.) scored his first collegiate goal to lift the Emmanuel College men’s soccer team past Albertus Magnus College, 1-0, Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Roberto Clemente Field. The win lifts the Saints to 9-10 overall and 5-4 in the GNAC while the loss drops the Falcons to 5-9-2 and 2-5-2 in GNAC play.

SAINTS CRUISE TO 4-1 WIN OVER SUFFOLK

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s Soccer Team eased to a 4-1 win over Suffolk University in a cross-town rivalry played under the lights at Roberto Clemente Field on Tuesday night. The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win boosted the Saints to 8-10 overall and even at 4-4 in league play. The conference loss dropped the visiting Rams to 4-12 on the season and 2-6 in the GNAC.

LASELL DOWNS MEN'S SOCCER, 4-0

NEWTON, Mass. – The Lasell College men’s soccer team knocked off Emmanuel College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference action 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in front of a large Family, Friends and Alumni Weekend crowd. The Lasers pushed their record to 10-3-1 on the year and 5-1-1 in GNAC play while Emmanuel slipped to 7-10-0 overall and 3-4-0 in conference contests.

BOSTON, Mass. – Three second half goals powered Emmanuel College past Clark University, 3-1, Wednesday evening in non-conference men’s soccer action at Roberto Clemente Field. With the victory, the Saints improve to 7-9 on the year while the loss drops the Cougars to 3-9-2 overall.

SHANGRAW’S HAT TRICK POWERS SAINT JOSEPH’S PAST MEN’S SOCCER, 4-2

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forward Kyle Shangraw (Westbrook, Maine) tallied a hat trick to lead the Saint Joseph’s College (ME) pas the Emmanuel College men’s soccer team, 4-2, Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Clemente Field. With the victory, the Monks stay perfect in the GNAC improving to 5-0 with a 9-4-1 overall mark while the loss drops the Saints to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in GNAC play.

SAINTS COME UP JUST SHORT AT NORWICH

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University men's soccer team ended its three-game winless streak in dramatic fashion on Friday night with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Emmanuel College on Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action. In the twelve-year history of the men's soccer program at Emmanuel College, the Saints have never beaten Norwich.

BOSTON, Mass. – Two goals for Ole Eriksen led the way Wednesday night as the Emerson Men's Soccer Team topped the visiting Emmanuel Saints 2-1. With the win the Lions improve to 5-4 while Emmanuel drops to 5-7.

CHARETTE & KOPACZ LAND GNAC WEEKLY HONORS

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College junior goalkeeper Garrett Charette (West Springfield, Mass.) and freshman forward Wojciech Kopacz (Garfield, N.J.) were both recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference for their play in this week’s GNAC Men’s Soccer Report. Charette was named the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week while Kopacz was honored as the GNAC Rookie of the Week.

STRONG FIRST HALF BOOSTS SAINTS OVER RAIDERS

NASHUA, N.H. - The Emmanuel College Men's Soccer team netted two first-half goals enroute to a 2-1 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win over Rivier University on Saturday evening. The win under the lights at Raider Field moved the visiting Saints to 5-6 overall and 2-1 in GNAC action. The Raiders fall to 1-5-1 on the season and 0-2-1 in league competition.

MEN’S SOCCER BLANKS CURRY, 2-0

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College men’s soccer team notched their first shutout victory of the 2013 campaign downing Curry College, 2-0, in non-conference action Thursday evening at Clemente Field. With the victory the Saints improve to 4-6 overall while the loss drops the Colonels to 4-3-1.
