BOSTON, Mass.— The Emmanuel College cross country program returns to action later this week when they open the 2019 campaign right in their backyard.
The Saints have eight meets on the schedule this season including the 9th Annual Fens Classic slated for this Friday morning in Boston just minutes away from the EC campus.
Head Coach Reava Potter's squad starts the season off with three meets in Massachusetts, following up the Fens Classic with the Endicott Invitational in Bradley Palmer State Park (Topsfield, Mass.) on September 7th as well as the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on September 21st.
Emmanuel then hits the road in October for the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. on October 5th followed by the Runnin' Monks Invite at Saint Joseph's College in Standish, Maine on October 12th before returning to Boston for the Suffolk Invitational at the historic Franklin Park course.
EC will look to repeat as GNAC Champions on the women's side on Saturday, November 2nd back in Standish, Maine where the Saints have historically run very well.
"I'm really excited to welcome many new faces to the program this season," said Potter. "Our returners have been working hard to push their new teammates and I know the program is moving in the right direction to compete for another championship on both sides."
After the GNAC Championship meet, the program will race in Brunswick, Maine at the NCAA D-III Regionals hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday, November 16th.
