SAINTS WELL REPRESENTED ON 2018-19 GNAC ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE SQUAD

WINTHROP, Mass. – Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Commissioner Joe Walsh is pleased to announce the 2018-19 Academic All-Conference Teams, as 1,030 student-athletes have garnered recognition this year. In order to be eligible, a student must have a 3.25 cumulative grade point average during the academic year and have reached second-year academic status.

VERCRUYSSE & CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS EARN USTFCCCA ACADEMIC HONOR

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its 2018 National Academic Awards. Emmanuel College sophomore Pearl Vercruysse (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) was recognized on the individuals list while both the Men’s & Women’s Cross Country programs were honored on the Team list.

CROSS COUNTRY WRAPS 2018 CAMPAIGN WITH STRONG FINISH AT REGIONALS

BRUNSWICK, Maine - On Saturday, November 10, the Emmanuel College Cross Country program wrapped up one of the greatest seasons in program history as the Women’s Team finished in the Top 25 in the NCAA D-III New England Regional race while the Men placed 35th overall in the region.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES THIRD IN GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP

STANDISH, Maine – Colby Sawyer College claimed the 2018 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Cross Country Championship in the 8K race at Saint Joseph's College on Sunday afternoon. The Emmanuel men finished third overall in the field and had two runners named to the All-Conference team.

GNAC CHAMPIONS! WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TAKES HOME 2018 GNAC CROWN

STANDISH, Maine – Emmanuel College claimed the 2018 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Cross Country Championship for their third title in six years, with 44 points in the 5K race at Saint Joseph's College on Sunday afternoon. EC also won the GNAC Championship in 2013 and 2015.

EMMANUEL WOMEN, NORWICH MEN TOP GNAC CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP POLLS

Due to an impending nor'easter set to hit the region this weekend, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced on Thursday morning that the 2018 GNAC Cross Cross Country Championships will be pushed back one day to Sunday, October 28. Saint Joseph's College of Maine will remain as this year's host, as the Monks get set to welcome the GNAC's programs and coaches to the SJC Cross Country trail.

VERCRUYSSE POWERS CROSS COUNTRY TO ANOTHER TEAM WIN AT SUFFOLK INVITATIONAL

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women's cross country team placed first overall while the men's team finished fourth at the 2018 Rams Invitational hosted by Suffolk University on the men's 8K and the women's 5K courses at the historic Franklin Park on Friday afternoon.

FITZPATRICK NAMED GNAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman Hannah Fitzpatrick (Revere, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office earlier this week. This marks the second time this season that she has earned the Rookie of the Week honor as she earned the recognition back on September 10.

CROSS COUNTRY RUNS AT THE 50TH CODFISH BOWL

The Emmanuel College cross country teams were close to home on Saturday, September 22nd for the 50th Codfish Bowl at Franklin Park, where the women’s team were led by sophomore Pearl Vercruysse (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) to a sixth place finish, and the men’s team was led by junior Erik Brobst (Freeport, Maine) to an eighth place finish.

SAINTS COMPETE AT UMASS DARTMOUTH INVITATIONAL

The Emmanuel College cross country teams traveled to UMass Dartmouth on Saturday morning for the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, where Saints the men’s team came in 28th place out of 41, and the women’s team finished in 24th place out of 45. Southern New Hampshire University’s men’s team landed on top of the field of 41, where Brandeis University won the day for the women’s side.

JOURNEAY, HALLORAN & FITZPATRICK EARN GNAC WEEKLY HONORS

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Katharine Journeay (Hampton, N.H.), freshman Daniel Halloran (Lawrence, Mass.), and freshman Hannah Fitzpatrick (Revere, Mass.) have each been recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in their respective sport’s Weekly Reports. Fitzpatrick has been named the GNAC Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week while Halloran earns the GNAC Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week honors. Journeay has been tabbed the GNAC Women’s Volleyball Libero of the Week, it was announced by the conference office earlier today.

CROSS COUNTRY OPENS SEASON WITH STRONG SHOWING AT ENDICOTT INVITATIONAL

TOPSFIELD, Mass. – The Emmanuel College cross country team opened the 2018 campaign with a strong showing at the Endicott Invitational Saturday morning at Bradley Palmer State Park. The men’s squad placed second overall with three runners finishing in the top 10 while the women’s team placed third overall, landing four runners in the top 15 of the field.

POTTER NAMED XC/TF HEAD COACH & FITNESS/NUTRITION ADVISOR

BOSTON, Mass. – Following a national search, the Emmanuel College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Reava Potter as the Head Cross Country/Track & Field Coach and Fitness & Nutrition Advisor.  Potter becomes just the second head coach in the program's history and will become the program’s first full-time Head Coach.
