SAINTS SET TWO PROGRAM RECORDS AT D3 NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Saints wrapped up the 2018 Outdoor Track & Field season with a strong performance at the 2018 NCAA Division III New England Track & Field Championships hosted by MIT at Morrison Track.

THE LEAD: The Saints wrapped up the 2018 Outdoor Track & Field season with a strong performance at the 2018 NCAA Division III New England Track & Field Championships hosted by MIT at Morrison Track.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Pearl Vercruysee (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) set the school record in the 1,500m race with a time of 4:46.26 with a finish of 17th overall in the event.
- Sophomore Jacquelyn Schneider (Weymouth, Mass.) also set a program record with her performance in the Heptathlon, finishing ninth overall with a score of 3593, missing All-New England honors by one place and just 121 points.
- Sophomore Patrick Carty (Sweeden, Maine) ran a new personal best in the steeplechase with a time of 10:02.69, good for an 11th place finish.
- Senior tri-captain Francisco Tavares (Boston, Mass.) ran well in the 400m race with a time of 51.21 seconds, finishing 21st overall in a very fast field.
- The Saints relay teams also excelled as the 4x400m team finished 14th overall with a time of 3:30.89 made up of Tavares, Nathaniel Dale (Franklin, Mass.), John Cavanaugh (Redding, Conn.) and Trevor Hajj (Gilmanton, N.H.).
- The women's 4x800m relay team just missed out on All-New England accolades with a ninth place finish of a time of 9:55.82, missing All-New England status by a mere 0.65 tenths of a second. The team was made up of Vercruysse, Stephanie Forester (East Walpole, Mass.), Jordyn Gonsor (Springfield, Mass.) and Reilly Boyle (Wells, Maine).

- The Saints close out the 2018 campaign at the New England championships and will return to action next year after a highly successful outdoor campaign.
