TWO SAINTS RECORD TOP EIGHT FINISHES AT THE TUFTS SNOWFLAKE CLASSIC
MEDFORD, MASS. - On Saturday, March 31st, the Emmanuel College outdoor track & field teams headed to Tufts University for the Snowflake Classic, where Pearl Vercruysse (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) place in the top five in two races and Chelsea Smith finished in eighth place for the Saints.

THE LEAD: On Saturday, March 31st, the Emmanuel College outdoor track & field teams headed to Tufts University for the Snowflake Classic, where Pearl Vercruysse (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) place in the top five in two races and Chelsea Smith finished in eighth place for the Saints.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- First-year Vercruysse finished in fifth place in the 1500 meter with a finishing time of 4:49.60, breaking her own school record and recording a qualifying time for the New England DIII qualifier and also finished in second place in the 800 meter race, recording a new school record of 2:23.63.
- First-year runner Chelsea Smith (Manchester, Conn.) finished in eighth place in the 400 meter race, recording a time of 1:01.48.
- For the men, Jake Cavanaugh (Redding, Conn.) recorded two new personal bests, the first in the 100 meter race with a time of 17.20 and in the 400 meter with a time of 62.53.
- Both the men and the women long jumpers recorded new highs, with sophomore Carolyn Richardson (Kenebunk, Maine) recording a 14'5" jump and first-year Aidan Sitler (Wethersfield, Conn.) recorded a 17'11" jump.
