TAVARES & CAVANAUGH EARN MAJOR GNAC HONORS

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior Francisco Tavares (Boston, Mass.) and freshman John Cavanaugh (Redding, Conn.) were both recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in the first-ever GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Major Awards announcement on Friday afternoon. Tavares was named the GNAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Year while Cavanaugh was named the GNAC Men’s Track Rookie of the Year. Junior Jordyn Gonsor (Springfield, Mass.) and sophomore Patrick Carty (Sweden, Maine) represented the Saints on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

SAINTS SET TWO PROGRAM RECORDS AT D3 NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Saints wrapped up the 2018 Outdoor Track & Field season with a strong performance at the 2018 NCAA Division III New England Track & Field Championships hosted by MIT at Morrison Track.

SAINTS WIN 13 EVENTS AT THE INAUGURAL GNAC OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

WESTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College men's and women's track & field programs competed in the first-ever Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Sunday afternoon at Regis Stadium. Both teams finished third overall in their fields with the Saints winning seven events on the women's side and six on the men's. For the first time ever in the history of Regis Athletics, the host Pride earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference championships as both the Regis men's and women's track and field teams took home the title on their home turf.

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD TABBED 1ST; MEN 2ND IN GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP POLL

WINTHROP, Mass. – Regis (Mass.) is set to host the inaugural Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Sunday, April 29 at Regis Stadium, with events getting underway at 10:00 AM from Weston, Mass. The event will feature the GNAC's five track & field programs: Emmanuel College, Lasell College, Regis (Mass.), Saint Joseph's College of Maine and Suffolk University.

SAINTS IMPROVE ACROSS THE BOARD AT THE SEAN COLLIER INVITE

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - On Saturday, April 21st, the Saint’s outdoor track & field teams participated in the Sean Collier Invitational at MIT, where Chelsea Smith (Manchester, Conn.) was able to punch her ticket to the New England Championship with her time in the 200 meter race and thirteen other Saints recorded personal bests in varying events.

OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD THRIVES AT SILFEN INVITATIONAL

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Emmanuel College Outdoor Track & Field teams enjoyed a strong showing at the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon. Six members qualified for the NCAA Division III New England meet, one new school record was set and 23 new personal records were established.

VERCRUYSSE AND CAVANAUGH LEAD THE SAINTS AT THE SMITH COLLEGE INVITATIONAL

NORTHAMPTON, MASS. - On Saturday, April 7th, the Saint’s outdoor track & field teams participated in the Smith College Invitational, where seven different Emmanuel College student-athletes placed within the top seven in their respective races, including first-year Pearl Vercruysse (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) first place run in the 1500 meter race.

TWO SAINTS RECORD TOP EIGHT FINISHES AT THE TUFTS SNOWFLAKE CLASSIC

MEDFORD, MASS. - On Saturday, March 31st, the Emmanuel College outdoor track & field teams headed to Tufts University for the Snowflake Classic, where Pearl Vercruysse (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) place in the top five in two races and Chelsea Smith finished in eighth place for the Saints.

VERCRUYSSE SETS NEW SCHOOL RECORD IN FIRST MEET OF THE SEASON

MIDDLETOWN, CONN. - On Saturday, March 24th, the Emmanuel College outdoor track & field teams traveled to the Wesleyan University Invitational, where Pearl Vercruysse (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) broke the previous school record in the 1500 meter race, and placing second at the meet.
