Jordan Solidifies Trip to New England Regionals
The Emmanuel College Track & Field program were back on the road for the second meet of the season at the Mary Grinaker Invitational at Smith College. The highlight of the meet was a first-place finish for Amanda Jordan (Stoneham, Mass.), solidifying a trip to New England Regionals.

THE LEAD: The Emmanuel College Track & Field program were back on the road for the second meet of the season at the Mary Grinaker Invitational at Smith College. The highlight of the meet was a first-place finish for Amanda Jordan (Stoneham, Mass.), solidifying a trip to New England Regionals.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Amanda Jordan (Stoneham, Mass.) qualified for New England's in the high jump with a tie for first place with a final jump of 1.56 meters. Along with the first-place finish, Jordan also competed in the 400-meter dash and the triple jump, where she finished in ninth place.
- Sophomore Lauren Sterling (Rumford, Maine) finished the day with a fifth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles along with a sixth place finish in the high jump.
- Hannah Fitzpatrick (Revere, Mass.) was able to collect sixth place in the mile run, while teammate Molly Winship (Boxford, Mass.) was only seconds behind in the 14th place finish. Fitzpatrick was also able to break the top-ten in the 3000m run with a 11:29.9 time, placing seventh in the event.
- In the long jump, Jacquelyn Schneider (Weymouth, Mass.) and Jillian Rawding (East Wareham, Mass.) placed back to back in 11th in 12th place, respectively, with only a .02-meter difference between teammates.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- The men broke into the top ten in a few events, first by Kyle Hajj (Methuen, Mass.) in the 600-meter run with a final time of 1:29.70, finishing in fifth place.
- Freshman Griffin Bean (Cape Neddick, Maine) followed the lead of Hajj with a fifth-place finish in the men's pole vault recording a best jump of 3.25 meters.
- Alonzo Fluellen Jr. (Phenix City, Ala.) continued his freshman campaign with a tenth-place finish in the shot put (11.36m).
