Saints Open 2020 at Bowdoin College Invitational
BRUNSWICK, Maine -The Emmanuel College Track & Field program returned to action for the first time in 2020 at the Bowdoin College Invitational in Brunswick, Maine. The women’s team scored 57 points to finish fifth overall while the men recorded 27 points for a sixth place showing. Host Bowdoin swept the meet by scoring 232 points on the women’s side and 207 for the men.

THE LEAD: The Emmanuel College Track & Field program returned to action for the first time in 2020 at the Bowdoin College Invitational in Brunswick, Maine. The women's team scored 57 points to finish fifth overall while the men recorded 27 points for a sixth place showing. WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Amanda Jordan (Stoneham, Mass.) notched a pair top-10 finishes, posting a second-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.51m (4'11.5") and a ninth place finish in the 600m event with a time of 1:50.92.
- Sophomore Lauren Sterling (Rumford, Maine) was just behind Jordan in the high jump with a third-place finish at 1.46m (4'9.5") while finishing eighth in the 60m hurdles.
- First year Jillian Rawding (East Wareham, Mass.) and senior Jackie Schneider (Weymouth, Mass.) finished in third and fourth in the long jump with leaps of 4.60m (15'01.25") and 4.52m (14'10"), respectively. Schneider also finished sixth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.34 seconds.
- First year Molly Winship (Boxford, Mass.)) and sophomore Nicole Ruggiero (Peabody, Mass.) placed third and fourth in the 1,000m race with times of 3:33.07 and 3:38.67.
- Sophomore Hannah Fitzpatrick (Revere, Mass.) placed third in the 1mile run, clocking in at 5:33.71.
- Sophomore Deanna Ruggiero (Peabody, Mass.) ran well in her collegiate track debut, placing fifth in the 800m race with a time of 2:48.39.
- Sophomore sprinter Haley Boisvert (Merrimack, N.H.) earned a fourth-place finish in the 400m event at 1:08.49
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Griffin Bean (Cape Neddick Maine) bested his own program record in the pole vault clearing 3.50m (11'5.75") for a third-place finish in the event. Bean also finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 5.62m (18'05.25").
- First year Nick Eline (Southampton, Mass.) finished fourth in the 3,000m race, clocking in at 10:23.81.
- Junior Kyle Hajj (Methuen, Mass.) jumped 5.80m in the long jump for a fourth-place finish (19'00.50").
- Rookie thrower Alonzo Fluellen Jr. (Phenix City, Ala.) performed well in his second collegiate meet, placing fourth in the shot put (11.91m) and eighth in the weight throw (11.15m).
- Junior Luke Elson (Ashaway, R.I.) raced to a sixth-place finish in the 200m and 400m dash with times of 24.59 and 55.63.
- Aidan Sitler (Wethersfield, Conn.) finished sixth in the triple jump posting a jump of 11.28m (37'00.25").
