A Unified Statement From the Emmanuel College Athletic Department
Given recent events in our country, the Emmanuel College Athletic Department acknowledges the frustration, trauma and pain that people of color have experienced for generations and continue to experience today. Social injustice has no place within our world or our athletic community.
Given recent events in our country, the Emmanuel College Athletic Department acknowledges the frustration, trauma and pain that people of color have experienced for generations and continue to experience today. Social injustice has no place within our world or our athletic community.
Sport does not discriminate. Emmanuel College student-athletes, coaches and administrators come from incredibly diverse racial, cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. It's one of the most beautiful things about our athletic community.
The Athletic Department is here to listen, support and stand with all people of color. As an institution, Emmanuel embraces an education shaped on strong ethical values and a commitment to social justice and service. As Saints, we are committed to treating all people with respect and dignity, refusing racism or bigotry of any kind, and working together to educate and support our players, coaches and staff.
No matter what has been done in the past to be more socially conscious, it is not enough. Our community needs to do more and take action moving forward.
We stand with our students as allies and advocates. We unite with the rest of the Emmanuel College community in standing against racism and promoting an inclusive environment we can all be proud of.
