SHELOW & CHRUSCIELSKI TABBED TO ALL-GNAC SQUAD

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore outside hitter Mary Shelow (Miami, Fla.) and senior outside hitter Cassie Chruscielski (Duluth, Minn.) have been named to the 2016 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball All-Conference team, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning. Shelow makes her first appearance on the All-Conference squad earning Third Team honors while Chruscielski earns her third All-Conference accolade also earning Third Team recognition.

SEALS INDUCTED INTO NEW AGENDA: NORTHEAST HALL OF FAME

NEWTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College women’s volleyball Head Coach Denitra Seals has been inducted into the New Agenda: Northeast Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony took place on Sunday, November 5 at the Woodland Golf Club honoring a class of 11 inductees in 2016. Fellow GNAC Head Coach Mary Tom of Lasell College was also a member of this year’s induction class. To date, 443 members have been inducted into the New Agenda Northeast HOF.

RAIDERS STOP WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL IN GNAC QUARTERFINALS, 3-0

NASHUA, N.H. - The No. 2 seeded Rivier University Women’s Volleyball team advanced to their 14th consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals with a 3-0 win over visiting No. 7 seeded Emmanuel College in the GNAC Quarterfinal matchup this evening inside the Muldoon Gymnasium.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL TO FACE RIVIER IN GNAC TOURNEY

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team is set to travel to Nashua, N.H. for Tuesday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference Quarterifinal match up against No. 2 Rivier University set for 7:00 PM. The Saints advance to the GNAC Quarters for the 18th consecutive season while the Raiders will look to make their 14th straight trip to the Semifinals by holding seed.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYABLL HONORS SENIORS IN FINAL GNAC TRI-MATCH

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team honored its four seniors prior to the start of Saturday afternoon’s Great Northeast Athletic Conference tri-match against Rivier University and Saint Joseph’s College (ME). The Raiders picked up a pair of wins and improve to 29-3 overall and 10-1 in the GNAC, Saint Joseph’s spilt the action to move to 12-12 on the year and 6-5 in the GNAC while the Saints fell in both contests to fall to 11-21 and 6-5 in the GNAC.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL COMPETES AT SMITH HALL OF FAME TOURNAMENT

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team competed this past weekend at the Smith College Hall of Fame Tournament, taking on Trinity College (CT), Hamilton College and host Smith College. The Saints picked up a 3-1 (25-17, 16-25, 27-25, 25-14) win over the Pioneers in their middle match of the tourney, falling to Trinity and Hamilton in their other contests. Senior outside hitter Cassie Chruscielski (Duluth, Minn.) was named to the All-Tournament Team.

CHRUSCIELSKI RECORDS 1,000TH CAREER DIG IN NON-CONFERENCE ACTION VS EMERSON

BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Jules Augustine (Skaneateles, N.Y.) and freshman Bella Edwards (Palisades, Calif.) each recorded 12 kills to power the Emerson College women's volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep over Emmanuel College in its final non-conference match of the 2016 season on Thursday night at Brown & Plofker Gym. The Lions took the first set by 25-21, followed by 25-23 and 25-22 wins to wrap up the sweep.

SAINTS COMEBACK FALLS SHORT; SHARKS HOLD ON FOR 3-2 GNAC WIN

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s volleyball fell to Simmons College, 3-2 (19-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 12-15), Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at the Jean Yawkey Center. The Sharks led 2-0 before the Saints rallied to send the match to a decisive fifth set but the comeback fell short as the visitors prevailed with a 15-12 win in the final frame. Simmons improves to 8-9 on the year and 5-2 in GNAC play while the loss drops EC to 10-16 and 6-3.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROPS TWO MATCHES AT LASELL

NEWTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team fell twice on Saturday afternoon at Lasell College, losing to the Lasers in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) as well as Framingham State in non-conference play. The Lasers took the Saints by set scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 15-9, before EC dropped the latter half of the afternoon tri-match with Framingham State, 3-1.

JWU TOPS WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL IN GNAC SHOWDOWN, 3-0

BOSTON, Mass. – Johnson & Wales University posted a convincing 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-21) victory over host Emmanuel College Thursday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women’s volleyball action at the Jean Yawkey Center Gymnasium.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL IMPROVES TO 6-0 IN GNAC, SWEEPS SUFFOLK & ALBERTUS MAGNUS

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College cruised to a pair of 3-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference women’s volleyball victories Saturday afternoon over visiting Suffolk University (9-8, 2-3 GNAC) and Albertus Magnus College (5-13, 0-5 GNAC) to improve to 10-12 overall and a perfect 6-0 in GNAC play midway through the regular season.

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) women’s volleyball team saw its four-game winning streak snapped on Thursday night, falling to the Emmanuel College Saints in straight sets (25-22, 26-24, 25-21) in what will be the final non-conference meeting between the two schools.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL POSTS 1-2 RECORD AT RWU INVITATIONAL

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team posted a 1-2 record at the 2016 Roger Williams Invitation, posting a 3-1 victory over the University of New England to go along with a pair of losses to Worcester State University and Bridgewater State University. The Saints are now 7-12 on the year.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS NORWICH, 3-0

BOSTON, Mass. – A balanced offensive attack powered Emmanuel College past Norwich University, 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-20), Wednesday evening at the Jean Yawkey Center Gymnasium in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women’s volleyball action. With the win EC improves to 6-10 overall, records their fifth consecutive victory and stays perfect in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference at 4-0 while the Cadets fall to 2-8 overall and 1-2 in the GNAC.

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team picked up a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference victories Saturday afternoon at the O’Connell Center, downing Anna Maria College 3-2 (25-15, 16-25, 17-25, 25-16, 15-13) and University of Saint Joseph (CT), 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-10).
