SAINTS ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT HOSTS ANNUAL AWARDS NIGHT

The Emmanuel College Athletic Department hosted its Annual Awards Night and Dessert Reception last weekend, celebrating the Saints success during the 2012-2013 athletic seasons. Student-athletes, coaches, supportive families and fans filled the gymnasium of Emmanuel's Jean Yawkey Center on Saturday evening, April 27th, for the annual athletic recognition night. The event featured award presentations by the head coaches of each of Emmanuel's varsity programs and spirit teams, as well as major award presentations by Saints staff and administrators. Emmanuel's food service division, Bon Appetit, provided a delectable buffet of dessert selections for all of the attendees.

2012 WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SEASON IN REVIEW

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team wrapped up the 2012 campaign posting 14 wins and an 8-4 record in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). The 14 win season was the fifth consecutive campaign in which the program has tallied at least 14 victories.

LEE INVITED TO PLAY IN ALL-NEW ENGLAND SENIOR CLASSIC

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Emmanuel College Women’s Volleyball standout, Yun-Ting Lee Keelung, Taiwan), has been invited to play in the 2012 All-New England Senior Classic. Lee is one of New England’s top 35 Division III senior volleyball players, as selected by the New England Women’s Volleyball Association (NEWVA).

LEE NAMED TO GNAC WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL ALL-CONFERENCE SQUAD

Senior libero Yun-Ting Lee (Keelung, Taiwan) has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Volleyball Second Team All-Conference squad, it was announced earlier today by the conference office.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL BOWS OUT OF GNAC TOURNEY WITH 3-1 LOSS TO SIMMONS

The Simmons College women's volleyball team defeated Emmanuel College, 3-1 (25-22, 25-13, 23-25, 25-23), to advance to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference semifinals vs. No. 1 seeded Rivier College on Friday, November 2nd at 7:00 PM in Nashua, N.H.

VOLLEYBALL TEAM TO PLAY AT SIMMONS IN GNAC QUARTERFINALS

BOSTON, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced the 2012 Women’s Volleyball Championship Bracket featuring eight teams, with tournament play scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 31st. Emmanuel College has secured the No. 5 seed in the tournament and will play at 4th-seeded Simmons College on Halloween.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CLOSES REGULAR SEASON WITH TRI-MATCH SWEEP

The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team closed out the 2012 regular season with a pair of victories Saturday afternoon, downing the University of Saint Joseph (CT) and Mount Ida College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on the Mount Ida campus.

Freshman middle hitter Raeann Nesta (Niantic, Conn.) recorded a match-high 13 kills to lead the Simmons College volleyball team past Emmanuel College, 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18), Tuesday evening at the Jean Yawkey Center.

The Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team used a balanced offensive attack to down Anna Maria College, 3-0 (25-6, 25-14, 25-16), in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon at the Jean Yawkey Center.

ROSE LEADS WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL PAST NORWICH, 3-0

Freshman outside hitter Danielle Rose (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) collected a match-high 16 kills to lead the Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team past Norwich University, 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-19), Saturday afternoon at the Jean Yawkey Center. With the victory, the Saints improve to 11-15 overall and 5-3 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference while the loss drops the Cadets to 8-12 and 3-6 in the GNAC.

Senior outside hitter Sarah Hawkes (Pownal, Maine) and freshman middle hitter Felicia Wachowiak (Milton, N.H.) combined for 23 kills to lead the Saint Joseph’s College women’s volleyball team past Emmanuel College, 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-19), Wednesday evening at the Jean Yawkey Center Gymnasium.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL NOTCHES TWO WINS AT LASELL

The Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team headed down the road to Newton for a tri-match with host Lasell College and Gordon College, picking up a pair of victories. EC topped the hosts in a five-set thriller before defeating Gordon in their second match, dispatching the Fighting Scots in three sets.

VOLLEYBALL TEAM BLANKS JWU, 3-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Emmanuel Saints put together a three-set win over the host Johnson & Wales University Wildcats in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Volleyball action played at Harborside Recreation Center on Wednesday evening. The 3-0 win (19-25, 22-25, 22-25) win for the Saints improved Emmanuel’s record to 8-14 overall and 3-2 in the league. With the loss Johnson & Wales is now 9-15 overall and 4-3 in the GNAC.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL POWERS PAST SUFFOLK IN GNAC HOME-OPENER, 3-1

Senior middle hitter Moriah Logan (Halifax, Mass.) collected a match-high 12 kills to lead the Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team past Suffolk University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action, 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 25-17, 25-15), Wednesday evening at the Jean Yawkey Center gymnasium. With the victory the Saints stay perfect in GNAC play, improving to 2-0 in the conference and 7-12 overall while the loss drops the Rams to 8-10 overall and 2-4 in the GNAC.

EMMANUEL RECORD-HOLDER NAMED VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

After becoming Emmanuel’s all-time leader in digs just four days ago, senior Yun-Ting Lee was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Lee’s recognition came after the senior captain recorded 27 digs to lead the Saints to a 3-2 win over Eastern Nazarene College last Thursday night. Lee’s match-high dig tally put her over the four-year career mark for digs set by Jenna Ross (’12) just last season.
