KIESELBACK & SENDRICK EARN GNAC WEEKLY HONORS
BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College senior pitcher Megan Kieselback (Wethersfield, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week and junior second baseman Kerry Sendrick (Medway, Mass.) has been named the GNAC Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday, April 23.
BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College senior pitcher Megan Kieselback (Wethersfield, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week and junior second baseman Kerry Sendrick (Medway, Mass.) has been named the GNAC Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday, April 23.
Kieselback earns GNAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the third time this season after posting a 2-0 record on the week in the circle, earning two complete-game GNAC wins over Suffolk and Regis. The senior combined for 20 strikeouts including 12 K's against Suffolk in a 5-3 win. On the week Kieselback posted a 2.00 ERA and is now 8-0 since March 31.
On the year, Kieselback has tossed 90 innings and compiled a 9-5 record to go along with one save. She currently leads the GNAC with 91 strikeouts averaging 7.1 K's per seven.
Over her career, the Wethersfield, Conn. native has registered 27 victories and 278 strikeouts, to rank second in program history in both categories.
Sendrick earns GNAC Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career after hitting safely in all four games for Emmanuel, posting a .538 batting average (7-for-13) to go along with a .625 OBP and gaudy 1.154 slugging percentage. Three of her seven hits were for extra bases including two home runs and a triple, all coming in Emmanuel wins. The second basemen enjoyed a 4-for-4 game in a win over Regis, scoring four runs to go along with four RBI. Her home run against Suffolk broke a 2-2 tie and propelled EC to a 5-3 win. On the week she scored eight runs, drove in eight runs and drew three walks.
On the season, Sendrick is batting .302 with 24 RBI and 20 runs scored. She has a .402 OBP and is slugging .523 with 10 extra base hits on four doubles, three triples and three home runs.
In her three years with the program, Sendrick has a .289 career average with 48 runs scored and 48 RBI.
The Saints return to action on Friday, April 26 when they face Anna Maria College in GNAC North Divisional action starting at 3:00 PM.
