No. 2 Seeded Emmanuel to Host No. 7 Seeded Rivier in GNAC Women's Soccer Quarterfinals
BOSTON - The Emmanuel College women’s soccer team (16-2, 14-1 GNAC) has secured the two seed heading into the 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament. The Saints trail only Johnson & Wales University (15-2-3, 15-0 GNAC), who they suffered a 2-0 loss to on Oct. 7. With Oct. 21’s 7-0 win over Mitchell College, the Saints set a new program record with their 13th regular season win.

With Oct. 21's 7-0 win over Mitchell College, the Saints set a new program record with their 13th regular season win.
The Saints have had quite the season so far, heading into the postseason on a six-game win streak. Emmanuel is set to face Rivier University at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28. The two teams last met on senior night at Roberto Clemente Field on Oct. 23, where the Saints recorded yet another 7-0 win.
A series of Saints' players have earned awards and accolades this season along with setting some program records. Sophomore standout Sarah Dullaghan (Belmont, Mass.) leads the way for the Saints. She has netted 18 goals on the season, including an impressive four-goal game in the aforementioned shutout win over Mitchell, where she became the fourth player in program history to do so. The forward also earned GNAC Player of the Week honors on Oct.16, having recorded nine points over three matches. She earned such nod for the second-straight time on Oct. 23, after a historic 11-point week. In the 7-0 win over Rivier, Dullaghan recorded two goals and an assist.
Sophomore midfielder Maya Daryanani (Raynham, Mass.) has been impressive for Emmanuel. She has netted nine goals to go along with five assists. First-year Ciara Horan (Braintree, Mass.) has also been making an impact for the Saints. She has tallied eight goals and eight assists, making starts in all 18 games she has played in. The forward earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors twice over a three-week span. The second nod came on Oct. 16, after she had a seven-point week with two goals and three assists.
Graduate forward Jordan Butters (Beverly, Mass.) leads the way for the Raiders with 10 goals and six assists. Over 19 games (18 starts), Butters has tallied 26 points. Forward Emily Lizotte (Hudson, N.H.) has also been impactful for Rivier. She has recorded eight goals as well as three assists. Forward Kaylee Magoon (Loudon, N.H.) has made her mark for the Raiders. The junior has tallied seven goals to go along with four assists.
Sophomore Gaby Baker (Grafton, Mass.) will likely make the start in net for the Saints, having made 17 starts this season. She has recorded 56 total saves and 15 wins, including nine shutouts. It is likely sophomore Bri Nugent (Killingworth, Conn.) will take the field as Rivier's starting goalie, having made 15 starts for the Raiders. She posts a 7-6-2 record with 72 total saves.
