EMMANUEL MOURNS THE LOSS OF WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER SHELBY OLSEN '22

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College athletic department and community mourns the loss of Shelby Olsen ‘22 following her sudden passing on June 20, 2019. Olsen, a rising sophomore and member of the Women’s Soccer program, died in a motor vehicle accident this past Thursday at the age of 19.

SAINTS WELL REPRESENTED ON 2018-19 GNAC ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE SQUAD

WINTHROP, Mass. – Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Commissioner Joe Walsh is pleased to announce the 2018-19 Academic All-Conference Teams, as 1,030 student-athletes have garnered recognition this year. In order to be eligible, a student must have a 3.25 cumulative grade point average during the academic year and have reached second-year academic status.

GUTHRIE NAMED GOOGLE CLOUD FIRST TEAM ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior midfielder Mikayla Guthrie (North Andover, Mass.) has been named to the Women's Soccer Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-American Team, as selected by Sports Information Directors of America. The Division III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Division III Academic All-America® teams.

BOSTON, Mass. - The United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors have been announced and Emmanuel College junior defender Kaylin Deschenes (Lynn, Mass.) has earned Second Team All-New England accolades.

SAINTS LAND FIVE ON GNAC ALL-CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM; DESCHENES & GAWRON GARNER MAJOR AWARDS

WINTHROP, Mass. – Five players from the Emmanuel College women’s soccer team were honored Monday morning earning Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Conference honors as announced by the conference office. Seniors Mikayla Guthrie (North Andover, Mass.), Kayla Generis (Wethersfield, Conn.) and juniors Natalie Dash (East Hampton, Conn.), Kaylin Deschenes (Lynn, Mass.) and Lexi Gawron (South Hadley, Mass.) were all named to the GNAC All-Conference First Team, marking just the second time in GNAC history, and the first time since the conference went to a First/Second/Third team format that five+ players earned First Team honors. Additionally, Deschenes was named the GNAC Defensive Player of the Year while Gawron was tabbed the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year.

WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO LASELL IN GNAC SEMIFINALS 1-0 IN OT

NEWTON, Mass. – Senior Morgan Pinksten (Pelham, N.H.) drove home the game-winning goal with 55 seconds remaining in the first overtime Wednesday afternoon to lift the top-seeded Lasell College women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over fourth-seeded Emmanuel College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) semifinal on Taylor Field.

GAWRON EARNS SECOND STRAIGHT GNAC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK NOD

BOSTON, Mass. - Women's Soccer junior goalkeeper Lexi Gawron (South Hadley, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the second straight week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Gawron had previously been named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll on three occasions this season and this marks the second time of her career earning GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week honors.

MAURER NETS GAME-WINNER TO LIFT SAINTS PAST REGIS IN GNAC QUARTERFINALS, 1-0

BOSTON, Mass. - Freshman midfielder Bailey Maurer (Florence, Mass.) found the back of the net in the 66th minute of play to power the Emmanuel College Women’s Soccer team past Regis College, 1-0, Friday evening in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Quarterfinals at Roberto Clemente Field.

WOMEN’S SOCCER CLINCHES HOME PLAYOFF GAME WIN 2-0 WIN OVER SIMMONS

BOSTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College women’s soccer team used a goal in each half to pick up a 2-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory over Simmons University at Roberto Clemente Field on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Saints clinch a Quarterfinal home game in next week’s GNAC postseason tournament.
