DESCHENES NAMED CORVIAS GNAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman midfielder Kaylin Deschenes (Lynn, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office earlier this afternoon.
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman midfielder Kaylin Deschenes (Lynn, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office earlier this afternoon.
Deschenes collected a three-point week for the Saints, scoring the game-winning goal in a 6-0 win over Mount Ida College in Emmanuel's regular-season finale. The rookie also assisted on another goal in the victory to lift Emmanuel to a 9-9-1 overall record on the year and secure the No. 6 seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament.
The Lynn, Mass. native has enjoyed a strong rookie campaign for Emmanuel, finishing the regular-season ranked tied for first on the team in assists with four, tied for second on the team in points (12), while having the third highest goal total (4). The Saints are 5-0 on the year in games when Deschenes has tallied either a goal or assist.
The Saints return to action on Sunday, October 31 in the GNAC Quarterfinals when they travel to Albertus Magnus College to take on the #3 Falcons at 1:00 PM.
