WHITE EARNS GNAC ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR
BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College senior Sophia White (Monterey, Calif.) has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Third Team, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Sophomore Allison Hutchings (Billerica, Mass.) was the Emmanuel representative on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team.
BOSTON, Mass. - Emmanuel College senior Sophia White (Monterey, Calif.) has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Third Team, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Sophomore Allison Hutchings (Billerica, Mass.) was the Emmanuel representative on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team.
This marks the third consecutive season White has been named to the GNAC All-Conference third team as the anchor to the Saints defensive unit. The California native appeared in and started 12 games this season for the Saints and ranked tied for first on the squad with 18 caused turnovers. She registered 27 groundballs to rank tied for second among teammates and added 25 draw control wins which was also good for a second place tie. White also scored two goals on the year including a score in the Saints 17-6 victory over Albertus Magnus College on April 3.
Over her career, White appeared in 53 total matches, starting 44 of the as part of Emmanuel's defensive unit to rank just outside the program's top 10 in both categories. She'll graduate with 77 career groundballs to rank 10th all-time while her 56 caused turnover rank sixth all-time.
The Saints capped the 2018 season with an overall record of 3-11 and 3-7 in GNAC play to finish ninth overall in the GNAC standings. Emmanuel will graduate five members from the 2018 roster.
