BAKER BOOSTS WOMEN'S LACROSSE OVER RAIDERS, 20-8
NASHUA, N.H. – Junior attack Emily Baker (Stratham, N.H.) put together an impressive return to her home state, recording 10 points on seven goals and three assists to power the Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team over Rivier University, 20-8, Saturday afternoon at Raider Field. The Saints move to 11-3 on the year and 8-1 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action while the loss dips the Raiders to 6-10 overall and 3-5 in GNAC play.

The Saints move to 11-3 on the year and 8-1 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action while the loss dips the Raiders to 6-10 overall and 3-5 in GNAC play.
The Raider led early on, taking a 2-1 lead with 26:13 to play in the first half after a goal by junior Amanda Wickens (Tyngsboro, Mass.) before EC rattled off three straight goals including two by Baker to take the lead for good.
Rivier kept the game in check most of the first stanza and outscored the Saints over the final 10 minutes of the half, 3-2, to make it 9-6 in favor of the visitors at the half.
The second half was a different story as the Saints came out on fire, scoring six goals in the first 10 minutes of play to take a commanding 15-7 lead following a goal by senior middie Kristen Tuleja (Mansfield, Mass.).
Wickens made it 15-8 with 19:21 to play but the Saints scored five consecutive goals to close the action including back-to-back goals by Baker to end the game's scoring and account for the 20-8 final.
For Rivier, Wickens led the way with four points on three goals and one assist while Paxton Larocque (Londonderry, N.H.) scored twice.
EC senior Sarah Higgins (Groveland, Mass.) quietly recorded seven points on four goals and three assists while Tuleja added five points on two goals and three helpers. Junior Amanda Cook (Saco, Maine) registered a hat trick in the win.
Senior Lauren White (Lynnfield, Mass.) notched her 11th win of the year in goal for the Saints making 10 saves. Country Laperriere (Keene, N.H.) suffered the loss making 12 saves for Rivier.
Emmanuel is idle for the week and closes out the regular season next weekend with a showdown against Johnson & Wales University in Boston at 12:00 PM. The winner of the game will claim the No. 2 seed in the upcoming GNAC tournament. Rivier returns to the action on April 27 against Johnson & Wales as well, hosting the Wildcats at 7:00 PM.
