EMMANUEL WELL REPRESENTED ON GNAC ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

WINTHROP, Mass. - A total of 822 student-athletes have been named to the 2014-15 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by GNAC Commissioner Joe Walsh earlier this week. Emmanuel College was well represented on the list with 109 representatives, a conference-best, making up 13.25% of the GNAC’s Academic All-Conference selections.

2015 WOMEN’S LACROSSE SEASON IN REVIEW

BOSTON, Mass. – The 2015 Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team enjoyed another terrific campaign, posting an overall record of 12-4 to mark the first time in the program’s five-year history that the squad recorded back-to-back season with double-digit win totals. The Saints also set a new program-record causing a total of 218 turnovers, breaking the previous record set in 2014 by 38 turnovers, and ended the year with a 7.50 goals against average to rank second overall in the GNAC. Despite the strong defensive numbers, EC ultimately fell in the GNAC Semifinal to Saint Joseph’s (ME), 15-8.

FIVE WOMEN’S LACROSSE PLAYERS NAMED TO 2015 GNAC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

BOSTON, Mass. – Five members of the Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team have been named to the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference team, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday, April 28. Junior attack Kristen Tuleja (Mansfield, Mass.) and sophomore defender Savannah Lundwall (Fiskdale, Mass.) were each named to the GNAC First Team while senior attack Sarah Wootten (Berlin, Md.), junior middie Sarah Higgins (Groveland, Mass.) and junior goalie Lauren White (Lynnfield, Mass.) all earned Second Team honors.

SAINTS FALL TO MONKS IN WOMEN’S LAX SEMIFINALS

SCARBOROUGH, Maine – Top-seeded Saint Joseph’s College defeated #4 Emmanuel College, 15-8, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament Semifinal contest at Scarborough High School on Friday evening. Sophomore midfielder Jackie Wilson (Tiverton, R.I.) tallied five goals with two assists and 10 draw controls in the victory.

OFFENSIVE OUTBURST POWERS WOMEN’S LACROSSE PAST MOUNT IDA, 22-6, IN GNAC QUARTERFINALS

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team tied its single-game goal record en route to a 22-6 victory over Mount Ida College Wednesday evening in Quarterfinals action of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament at Roberto Clemente Field. The 22 goals equaled the program’s highest total from April 21, 2012 against Rivier University and the 15 goals scored in the first half matched the highest goal total scored in a half, last done on March 21, 2014 vs. Anna Maria. With the win, EC improves to 12-3 on the year and advances to the GNAC Semifinals while the loss caps the Mustangs season at 5-11 overall.

SAINTS ROLL PAST RAIDERS ON SENIOR NIGHT, 17-4

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team cruised to a 17-4 victory over Rivier University Wednesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Roberto Clemente Field. The Saints wrap up their regular season with an overall mark of 11-3, finishing GNAC play at 6-3 while the Raiders now stand at 4-10 and 3-6 in the GNAC.

WHITE NAMED GNAC WOMEN'S LACROSSE GOALIE OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND TIME

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior goalie Lauren White (Lynnfield, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week, in was announced by the conference office earlier today. This marks the second time this season White has earned the weekly accolade and the seventh time in her career.

SAINTS STAMPEDE BISON, 17-7

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Emily Baker (Stratham, N.H.) netted a career-high five goals to lead Emmanuel College over Nichols College, 17-7, in a non-conference women’s lacrosse contest played at Roberto Clemente Field on Monday night. With the win, the host Saints improved to 10-3 on the season, while the Bison dropped to 4-9 overall. Emmanuel has now tied the all-time series with Nichols at 2-2, dating back to when the two programs first met in 2012.

SAINTS CRUISE PAST FALCONS, 20-4

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Emmanuel College Women’s Lacrosse Team rebounded from a pair of tough one-goal Great Northeast Athletic Conference losses earlier in the week to roll over Albertus Magnus College, 20-4, on Saturday afternoon. The victory boosts the Saints to 9-3 on the season and 5-3 in league play, while Albertus Magnus drops to 1-12 overall and 0-7 in GNAC action.

WOMEN’S LAX SUFFERS SECOND-STRAIGHT 1-GOAL HEARTBREAKER

NEWTON, Mass. – A goal on a man-up advantage by junior midfielder Bridget Munnelly (Bellingham, Mass.) with ten seconds left on the clock lifted the Lasell College women’s lacrosse team over Emmanuel College, 10-9, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Thursday afternoon at Grellier Field. The crucial conference loss drops the Saints to 8-3 overall and 4-3 in league play, while the win improves the Lasers to 7-4 and 5-1 in GNAC action.

MONKS COME FROM BEHIND TO NIP SAINTS, 7-6

BOSTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph’s College stretched its win streak to nine games with a 7-6 win over Emmanuel College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s lacrosse action played under the lights on Roberto Clemente Field on Monday night. The GNAC battle, a rematch of last year’s conference title game, featured the visiting Monks outscoring the hosts Saints 6-1 in the second half to come from behind and claim the victory.

TULEJA LIFTS WOMEN'S LACROSSE OVER SIMMONS, 18-13

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior midfielder Kristen Tuleja (Mansfield, Mass.) tallied a career-high 10 points, including five goals to lead the Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team over host Simmons College, 18-13, this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Winsor Field in Boston, Mass. The Saints extend their win streak to six straight to improve to 8-1 on the season, including 4-1 in league play, while the Sharks’ three-match win streak comes to an end as they fall to 4-6 and 2-3.

SAINTS USE STRONG SECOND HALF TO ROLL PAST RAMS

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College defeated Framingham State University, 14-7, in non-conference women’s lacrosse action played under the lights on Roberto Clemente Field on Tuesday night. The win was the fifth-straight for the hosts Saints, who improve to 7-1 on the season and remain unbeaten on their home turf at 4-0. The loss drops the Rams to an even 2-2 overall.

WHITE NAMED GNAC GOALIE OF THE WEEK

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior goalie Lauren White (Lynnfield, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week, after leading Emmanuel to a 3-0 week with wins over the University of Saint Joseph, Regis College and Norwich University. White played all 180 minutes in net last week for the Saints and tallied 21 saves in her three games played.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE POWERS PAST NORWICH, 15-5

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Kristen Tuleja (Mansfield, Mass.) scored four goals, Emily Baker (Stratham, N.H.) netted three, while Sarah Higgins (Groveland, Mass.) and Stephanie Warn (Hanson, Mass.) each had two as the Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team eased to a 15-5 win over Norwich University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Sabine Field.

HIGGINS, TULEJA LIFT SAINTS OVER PRIDE, 10-8

BOSTON, Mass. – Juniors Sarah Higgins (Groveland, Mass.) and Kristen Tuleja (Mansfield, Mass.) netted four goals apiece to power the Emmanuel College Women’s Lacrosse Team past Regis College, 10-8, on Thursday night at Roberto Clemente Field. The non-conference win boosted the Saints to 5-1 on the season, while the Pride fell to 2-3 overall. The Saints now hold a 3-2 edge in the all-time series between these two programs.
