2014 WOMEN'S LACROSSE SEASON IN REVIEW

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team enjoyed the greatest season in the program’s four-year history, capturing the program’s first-ever Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship to earn an automatic bid to the D-III NCAA tournament. The Saints ended the year with a 15-3 overall record including a 10-0 mark in the GNAC.

HIGGINS, TULEJA EARN ECAC ALL-NEW ENGLAND LACROSSE HONORS

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – After leading the Saints to the program’s first-ever conference championship and to an NCAA Tournament appearance, Sarah Higgins (Groveland, Mass.) and Kristen Tuleja (Mansfield, Mass.) received post-season Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) honors. The duo were named to the ECAC Division III All-New England Women’s Lacrosse 2nd Team. The ECAC honored two teams of all-stars, which included five athletes representing GNAC schools, including Higgins and Tuleja.

WOMEN'S LAX DROPS OPENING ROUND NCAA TOURNAMENT GAME TO WHEATON, 14-3

NORTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team’s 2014 season came to a close Wednesday evening at the hands of Wheaton College following a 14-3 loss in NCAA Tournament first round action at Nordin Field. The Lyons (14-6) will now advance to the second round of the tournament and will play against Williams College on Saturday, April 10 in Williamstown, Mass. at a time to be determined later. The loss snaps the Saints program-record 11 game winning streak.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE PAIRED AGAINST WHEATON IN NCAA TOURNEY

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Women's Lacrosse Team has received its first round NCAA Tournament match-up. The Saints will face Wheaton College in the opening round of the national tournament on Wednesday, May 7th. The contest will take place at Diane Nordon ’80 Athletic Field on the Wheaton campus at 7:00 PM.

VIEW THE NCAA DIVISION III LACROSSE SELECTION SHOWS LIVE

The Emmanuel College Men's and Women's Lacrosse Teams will be making their programs' inaugural trips to the NCAA Division III national tournament this week. Both teams will play first round games on Wednesday, May 7th. The Saints will find out their first round opponent this Sunday night, May 4th.

SAINTS RACK UP ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS FOR WOMEN'S LACROSSE

BOSTON, Mass. – Six Emmanuel College Women’s Lacrosse players were honored with Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) post-season honors and Head Coach Liz Goddard was named the 2014 GNAC Coach of the Year. The six honorees were the most-ever for Emmanuel, following the Saints’ record-setting 15-2 campaign, which included a perfect 10-0 run through GNAC opponents and the program’s first conference championship.

HOMETOWN PRESS FOR BAKER, LITZELMAN, MERRIGAN

Three freshmen Emmanuel College lacrosse players received local hometown press this week, after helping the Saints win back-to-back Women’s and Men’s Lacrosse conference championships on Saturday and Sunday. Seacoastonline.com published a pair of feature stories, touting the accomplishments of a trio of EC rookies, including men’s attack Donnie Litzelman (Exeter, N.H.), women’s attack Emily Baker (Stratham, N.H.) and women’s midfielder Abaigeal Merrigan (Rye, N.H.).

GNAC WOMEN’S LACROSSE CHAMPIONS!!!

BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 1-seeded Emmanuel College Women’s Lacrosse Team won the program’s first-ever conference title, defeating No. 2-seeded Saint Joseph’s College (Me.), 17-7, in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship. With the win, coming on a rain-soaked Roberto Clemente Field on Saturday afternoon, the 15-2 Saints have earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will advance to play in the national tournament on May 7th. Finishing as the conference runner-up, Saint Joseph’s falls to 12-8 on the season.

WHITE STOPS RIVIER IN GNAC SEMIS; POWERS SAINTS INTO FINALS

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore goalie Lauren White (Lynnfield, Mass.) made 17 saves to lift the Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team past Rivier University, 9-5, in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament Semifinals Thursday evening at Roberto Clemente Field. The #1 Saints improve to 14-2 on the year while the loss ends the #5 Raiders campaign with a 9-8 overall mark.

SAINTS ROLL PAST BLUE JAYS, 20-8, IN FIRST WOMEN’S LACROSSE PLAY-OFF VICTORY

BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 1-seeded Emmanuel College Women’s Lacrosse Team stretched its win streak to nine games, when the Saints defeated 8th-seeded University of Saint Joseph, 20-8, on Tuesday night at Roberto Clemente Field. The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament Quarterfinal win was Emmanuel’s first-ever play-off victory, as the Saints improved to 13-2 on the season and will now advance to the GNAC Semifinals on Thursday night.

WOMEN'S LAX CRUISES PAST FRAMINGHAM STATE, 15-3

Framingham, Mass. – Sophomore Kristen Tuleja (Mansfield, Mass.) collected eight points to lead the Emmanuel College Saints to a 15-3 victory over the Framingham State University Rams in non-conference women’s lacrosse action at Maple Street Field this afternoon.

THIRD-CONSECUTIVE GOALIE OF THE WEEK HONOR FOR WHITE

BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College sophomore Lauren White has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalie of the Week for the third-consecutive week. White’s most recent weekly recognition came after leading Emmanuel to another undefeated week in conference play with back-to-back overtimes victories against Saint Joseph’s College (Me.) and Lasell College.

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Women’s Lacrosse Team downed Norwich University, 13-11, on Tuesday night under the lights at Roberto Clemente Field, stretching their win streak to seven games and completing a perfect undefeated regular season in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) competition.

WOMEN’S LAX CLINCHES 1ST PLACE IN GNAC WITH 13-12 O.T. WIN

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Women’s Lacrosse Team battled Lasell College for 66 minutes, before pulling out a 13-12 overtime victory to clinch 1st place in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) standings. Saturday afternoon’s big win at Roberto Clemente Field stretched the Saints’ win streak to six games and marked Emmanuel’s first-ever win over Lasell College. The Saints remain undefeated in GNAC action at 9-0 and improve to 10-2 on the season. The loss dropped Lasell to 7-6 overall and 5-3 in the league.

SAINTS' STREAK SURVIVES DOUBLE OVERTIME WITH MONKS

PORTLAND, Me. - The Emmanuel College Women's Lacrosse Team kept its unbeaten conference streak alive, by pulling off a 15-14 double-overtime win at Saint Joseph's College on Tuesday night. With the victory, Emmanuel ties its program-record for wins in a season, improving to 9-2 overall and 8-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action. This was the first conference loss in 2014 for Saint Joseph's, dropping the Monks to 6-6 overall and 6-1 in the league.
