CHALK, EZELL & FOX EARN GNAC ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forwards Jen Chalk (Horseheads, N.Y.), Alexis Ezell (Acworth, Ga.) and junior guard Alisha Fox (National Park, N.J.) have been selected to the 2016-17 GNAC Women’s Basketball All-Conference teams, it was announced earlier today by the conference office. All three players make their first appearance on the All-Conference team with Chalk earning Second Team honors while Ezell and Fox garner Third Team accolades.

SAINTS TAKE MONKS TO OT IN GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP BUT FALL SHORT

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph’s College (24-4, 15-1 GNAC) defeated Emmanuel College (20-8, 14-2 GNAC), 81-70 in overtime, in the 2017 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Basketball Championship at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday afternoon.

SAINTS GEARED FOR GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP REMATCH WITH SAINT JOSEPH’S

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s basketball team is set to travel to Standish, Maine for the 2017 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday, February 25 at 1:00 PM. The Saints bring a 20-7 overall record to the contest after posting a 14-2 mark in the GNAC to earn the top seed in the GNAC South Division. The Monks stand at 23-4 overall and posted 15-1 mark in the GNAC to secure the No. 1 seed in the GNAC North.

SAINTS PUNCH TICKET TO GNAC FINALS WITH 73-67 WIN OVER NORWICH

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forward Jen Chalk (Horseheads, N.Y.) scored 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting to power No. 1 (S) Emmanuel College past No. 2 (N) Norwich University, 73-67, Thursday evening in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament Semifinals. The win lifts the Saints to 20-7 on the year marking the 22nd 20-win season in program history while the loss drops the Cadets to 16-11.

SAINTS SET FOR GNAC SEMIFINAL MATCH-UP VS NORWICH

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s basketball team is set to host Norwich University in the 2017 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Semifinals on Thursday, February 23 at 7:00 PM on the Andy Yosinoff Court. The Saints bring a 19-7 overall record to the contest after posting a 14-2 mark in the GNAC to earn the top seed in the GNAC South Division. The Cadets stand at 16-10 overall and posted 9-7 mark in the GNAC to secure the No. 2 seed in the GNAC North.

BIG SECOND HALF LIFTS WOMEN’S HOOPS PAST SIMMONS IN GNAC QUARTERFINALS

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s basketball team pulled away in the second half to defeat Simmons College, 91-64, Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference Quarterfinals action at the Andy Yosinoff Court. The No. 1 (S) seeded Saints improve to 19-7 on the year while the No. 4 (N) seeded Sharks end the 2016-17 campaign with an 8-16 record.

BOSTON – After a back-and-forth first quarter, Emmanuel took over and the Suffolk women’s basketball team could not find its rhythm as the Rams fell, 79-53, Saturday afternoon inside Regan Gymnasium.

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s basketball team soared past Albertus Magnus College, 85-56, Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at the Andy Yosinoff Court. The Saints improve to 17-7 overall and 13-2 in the GNAC while the loss dips the Falcons to 12-11 and 7-7.

The Saints improve to 16-6 overall and 12-1 in the GNAC while the loss drops the Mustangs to 5-16 and 1-11 in conference play.

BOSTON, Mass. – Led by a 45-point showing from its bench, the Emmanuel College women’s basketball team powered past Norwich University 72-47 Thursday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at the Andy Yosinoff Court. The win lifts the Saints to 15-6 overall and 11-1 in GNAC play while the loss drops the Cadets to 12-8 overall and 7-5 in the GNAC.

FOX LEADS WOMEN’S BASKETBALL OVER SIMMONS, 75-61

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior guard Alisha Fox (National Park, N.J.) netted 14 points and the Emmanuel College (Mass.) defense forced 37 turnovers en-route to a 75-61 victory over host Simmons College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference women’s basketball contest this afternoon at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Saints have won eight of their last nine games and improve to 14-6 overall, including 10-1 in league play, while the Sharks fall to 5-10 and 5-5.

EZELL POSTS NEW CAREER-HIGH IN WOMEN'S HOOPS 79-76 WIN OVER ALBERTUS MAGNUS

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior forward Alexis Ezell (Acworth, Ga.) poured in a career-high 23 points to lead the Emmanuel College women’s basketball team past Albertus Magnus College, 79-76, Thursday evening at The Nest. The Saints improve to 13-6 on the year and 9-1 in GNAC play while the loss moves the Falcons to 11-8 and 6-4 in the GNAC.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HANGS WITH No. 1 JUMBOS

BOSTON, Mass. – The Tufts University women’s basketball team used an 11-0 run to open the second quarter to pull away from Emmanuel College in a 69-48 win Tuesday evening in non-conference action on the Andy Yosinoff Court. The Jumbos, who are ranked No. 1 in the most recent D3hoops.com national poll, stay perfect on the year improving to 19-0 while the loss ends the Saints six-game winning streak, dropping them to 12-6 on the season.
