Bio
Christopher Wright enters his fifth season as
the Head Men's Volleyball Coach at Emmanuel. Last year, he coached
the Saints to a 19-13 overall record and 9-3 in North East
Collegiate Volleyball Association's GNAC Division competition. His
overall coaching record for three seasons is 59-51. After spending
four years in the United States Navy, Wright became a Division III
volleyball player at the State University of New York at New Paltz.
Nationally ranked in kills, hitting percentage, blocks and aces
throughout his career, Wright was named American Volleyball Coaches
Association Division III Player of the Week in March 2000 and was
selected to the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association
Division III All-Star Team for three years. In 2004, Wright
participated at the USA Volleyball Open Tournament with Bameso
I-Dig, and contributed to a gold medal performance in the Open
competition. Collectively, Wright has over 19 years of playing
experience at the high school, military, college, and adult club
levels. As a student-athlete at SUNY New Paltz, Wright served as
Vice-President and President of the Student-Athlete Advisory
Committee (SAAC). During his senior year, he was appointed to the
NCAA Division III SAAC, as well as to the prestigious NCAA Olympic
Sports Liaison Committee. A 2001 graduate of State University of
New York at New Paltz, Wright works full-time as a higher education
administrator at a local Boston college and resides in Brookline
